Total tech dummy here...How does one go about getting e-mail while on a vacation that's mostly on the move daily. Would stay in hotels w/internet access, but have no idea what's involved. At home we have AOL for our PC. Our on the "cheap" hope would be to use the discount hotel sites (expedia, priceline, etc.) to book as we go looking ahead two days or so and I think they need an email address to complete transactions. Any help or comments (be kind though) appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi romantique, if the hotel has internet access, you would access youre aol account just like from home. They might apply a surcharge if it's a dial-up connection. You might also want to read some of their help pages on AOL or ask their live help about it.
If youre moving about the other thing you can look for is to check into areas where your going that might have wi-fi (wireless connections)- many towns, places, sort of have cafe's or such with them now.
I'd bet people who travel RV style could tell you more how they get around it I thought I read the wi-fi's are even popping up in certain camp sites? Btw, You can always go into one of their chat rooms and ask somebody if you dont feel like the help menus are helping you specifically.
The other thing is if you have a cell phone with internet access, you should also be able to access your AOL account and email from that too!

If the hotel does not have AOL as a provider, just sign on with whatever provider they use, then type in www.aol.com.
on that AOL screen, you will see a sign which said check your email, click on that and it will prompt you for your aol id and password, thats how you get to retrieve your mail.
