LARGO, Fla., July 8 (UPI) -- The chief investigator in the matter has told Florida Gov. Jeb Bush he found no evidence that Michael Schiavo caused his wife's collapse 15 years ago.
Bernie McCabe, the Pinellas-Pasco state attorney, urged Bush to end the state's inquiry into the death of Terri Schiavo. Bush said he would follow McCabe's recommendation, the St. Petersburg Times reported Friday.
"I hope this will be the final page in a very, very sad chapter for Florida government," said George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney.

Thanks Kiara, although it'll still be the same for some. No matter what's said, there will always be those who call him a murderer and swindler - mainly the super religious.

"I hope this will be the final page in a very, very sad chapter for Florida government," George Felos
I agree with the above statement and will add I also hope this case shows the Pennsylvania people how Phony and Wacko their republican Sen Rick Santorum is.
Santorum will be defeated in 2006 on the road to a better America for the majority of Americans not just the (my way or no way) minority.
Jeb Bush wrote a 2 sentence letter ending Florida's probe into Terry Schiavo death. I didn't read his letter but it should say something like this.
I Jeb Bush having milked Terry Schiavo death for all the votes I could possibly get. Now end my Terry Schiavo death probe and may God Bless the Great State of Florida.

davebraun I think the neocons in here realized they're outnumbered. I hope that's a sign of the future of America.

Schiavo was supposed to be a blessing for the neocon agenda. They used this poor woman and family to promote their extremist views. Reporters and cameras showed up at a hospice center without any regard for the other patients there and their families. It sickens me that this much time and effort was put into this story.
In an effort to distinguish their fire, I really do love to hear it when a neocon claims their agenda is on the march. Little do they know it is on the march right out the window. They think control over all 3 branches of government will make things right for them. They think it is a greed light to promote their hate filled agenda, to suppress the rights of americans in order to get another tax break. Little do they know the consequences of such actions. Ironic that they claim to live by the teachings of the bible, only to be hypocrites. Ironic that George Bush doesn't believe in evolution, but has somehow managed to make millions from fossil fuels. Hypocrites I tell you...hypocrites.

It is good news, that they found nothing. I'm glad they have ended this.
I admit, I always said, why he just didn't divorce her long ago, since he had children with his girlfriend already. I'm sure he could of, and no, I don't think he got much $$ out of it. Its curious that he didn't divorce.
I know that he kept saying, that he and Terrie talked, and said she didn't want any life support. I, myself cannot see 24, 25 year olds talking about these things or planning these.
Sure today, after all the media on Schiavo, there is probably more young couples doing just that. Maybe something good came out of this, so maybe more people, young and old, will have a living will.
I'm not sure I'm a neo con or not, not sure if I meet your requirements to be one

Of all the people that do up a living will, I'd still like to see how many choose to be kept alive as a vegetable. Any of you here make that choice? Do you know of anyone or have you ever heard of anyone making that choice?

I have a living will. No, I chose not to be on life support. I did tell Mike to MAKE sure I'm dead before they send me through the furnace for cremation though
I did this because my grandparents had them. They also had their funerals prepaid, I didn't know any of that, until the time came, making all those descions are really hard, but they had already made all decisions, and all paid for. You don't know how stressful it is having to do it your self, and how much funerals cost,
and to be grieving at the same time. (well, I'm sure a lot of you know what its like and costs)
My brother arranged his deceased wifes funeral, he was under so much stress,he 'bought into' everything the funeral home salesman had! including a plot next to her for himself, and ended up paying big $$$$$$$ for plots, services (had 2 funerals, one graveside, and one in a Buddist temple) casket and all. He was so out of it, 30k later, he really needed someone to talk to. I made the appt for a dr, and he was on anti depressants for about 6 months. He's ok now, its been over 12 years, and he is remarried.

I have signed a Durable Power of Attorney giving my wife the power to refuse medical care on my behalf should the need arise.
I also name two close friends as backups and they all know my wishes regarding quality of life issues.
As some of you know I am a post liver transplant patient and also suffer from renal failure (requiring dialysis 3 times a week). I have given this much thought.

No, no videos of my abdomen for the world to see when I can't say no and slam the door in their creepy faces.
No, I don't want politicians in my room telling my family what to do.
No, I don't want my family keeping me as a shrine to what I once was.
No, I don't want to burden my family for no good reason.
Yes, my entire family knows that it's the last thing I would want and they respect me enough to follow my wishes.

Oh, hell no... I want to live. I want my family, friends, girlfriend or wife to sit at my side, whether it is 30 minutes or 30 years. Don't pull the plug!!! Please don't pull the plug... I will still want to watch tv when they leave the room.
