What's the matter big boy? Are you down in the dumpers after your vacation? Lots of work to catch up on back at home? We aren't used to a quiet, subdued Classic..it's like waiting for the other shoe to drop.. whatszup?

Ok Classic you know what? I fibbed, not entirely though! LOL Out our living room window you CAN see it and the cascades, but only in the winter.......... seriously, the trees are in full bloom or whatever in the summer, nada.
We have our own little forest going
(one of the 'attractions' that they advertised for this house was Mtn view, well, yeah! in the winter, everyone on our street has a great view, we only get it in winter! )
And I know I saw this the other day, and we just got back. We just had central AC installed, its nice! Its 81 and this is the first time we've used it, ANYWAY
I just walked out to our street and got these for you

Yep thats snow, year round. Glacier, volcano.
I believe you can cross country ski, near the base? I've never done it. We've been up there, and walked the day hikes. I've stayed in some resort with my kids in the winter and it was fun. Downhill skiing is about a 45 min drive up I-90 to Snoqualmie pass. Or Crystal mtn, or several other places that are not too far.
Here's the 'stats' (had to look them up )
Mount Rainier (14,410'), an active volcano encased in over 35 square miles of snow and ice. The park contains outstanding examples of old growth forests and subalpine meadows.
Designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1997 as a showcase for the "NPS Rustic" style architecture of the 1920s and 1930s.
Whether hiking on its flanks, climbing its summit, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing on its slopes, camping along its glacier-fed rivers, photographing wildflower displays in subalpine meadows, or just admiring the view, nearly two million people come to enjoy the grandeur and beauty of Mount Rainier each year.

I don't know why you and Linda think that Mingotree is Crow. All you have to do is click on Mingotree's name and it shows that this person has been posting for a year! So how do you figure it's Crow with a new id? Sheesh.. the last time I was in time-out Linda wrote that she thought I was a reincarnation of another poster too.. someone I'd never heard of..
Anyway, I miss Crow and still don't know why she got suspended.. Isn't her time in the corner up yet? It feels like she's been gone for months. If you're out there Crow.. Maggie misses ya! Come back soon..

Well, though it looks close, we are not that close to Mt Rainier. But in '71, I was in high school, and we lived on the water (hence the name-NearTheSea )
