Target. Well, now there's another store I like that I'm crossing off my list! We took Tiffany there last night. She wants a bed set for her birthday and we took her to go pick one out. The comforter alone was $40, but it was cute and she loved it and she is the granddaughter so, we bought it. Got it home, washed it according to the directions and the damned thing fell apart. It was then that my daughter noticed it was Made in Pakistan. Pakistan? Isn't that one of the middle eastern countries being accused of harboring terrorists and one that employs slave labor?
If this president is so bent on ridding the world of terrorists, why are American companies being allowed to import goods from these countries to sell to Americans? I realize our backs are up against the wall when it comes to oil, but they aren't up against the wall when it comes to other goods.
Tiffany will be heartbroken, but the comforter gets returned today and another one will not be bought at Target. We're running out of options. WalMart is out and now Target. For $40, I could probably go to Kohls and get one that won't fall apart.

Cheryl-dont you have a Felines-Sears or Pennys near you? Are you going to pay more-probably,but at least you wont have to worry about having it fall apart.Target and Walmarts are a lot a like.I wouldnt be all that shocked if Walmarts owned Target. The reason these stores stay in business is their cheap prices. The only reason I ever to into these stores is to buy my coffee.Until recently I could buy a large 32 ounce can of Maxwell Columbian coffee at Walmart or Target for $4.99 while the A@P was charging $7.89 for the same can.Now where do you think classics gonna buy his coffee??.I usually buy 6 cans at a time so I dont have to frequent these stores that often.
If Pakistain is harboring terrorists consider yourself lucky that when you got home and opened up the comforter you didnt find a suicide cat inside with a bomb in it.

LOL, Classic! There is a hard waxy substance all over the quilt though that showed up once it was washed. I never thought of Pennys. I have one not too far away. Mind you, this was not a full bed set. Just the twin comforter was $40. I can probably get one for that price at Pennys. Thanks for the tip. Tiffany doesn't know about the quilt's condition yet and I'm sure this will be an ice cream day because of it. I'll just have to suffer through a frozen custard. Oh, the pain.

I don't go to Walmart much. When I did, your right profe, the aisles are crowded the line for checkout is ridiculus!
But, like Classic, if they have stuff, like coffee on sale, or other stuff like laundry soap, etc, we will get it there, IF we go there
Sears or Penneys, always have sales. You might be able to pick up a new comforter there. Or the bed in a bag? deals.
Yeah! take it back. I wonder what the heck made it fall apart, and what is the waxy stuff on it!

Hmmm, our Target stores are upscale. Beautiful, new, spacious, and top line items. Target is fairly new (just a few years) here. Course we are also the home of a Target Distribution Center.
I prefer our Target over Penny's, Sears any day.

cblev, if you can find anything that's not made in China, Mexico, Taiwan, these days it will be a rarity.
Also a lot of phone customer service is being sent overseas. I called Ford Motor Credit about my bill the other day and who should I get, India. And I called a computer service number recently, India also.

And even if you look for the "Made in USA" labels like Hilfigger, Liz Claiborne, gap, you'll be disappointed (unless you're a neocon) to know these are made in sweatshops in Saipan. They can legally put these labels in.
Tom Delay called these sweatshops shining examples of how America is headed in the right direction as far as business.
The women are forced to have abortions and Tom Delay applauds that.
They are forced into prostitution and Tom Delay applauds that.
They work for low wages, are locked in dormitories at night, are forced to work long unrecorded, some unpaid, hours and the Republican leader Tom Delay applauds that.
So even the Made in USA label is a sham and a shame..

Canada still gets a lot of stuff made in the USA. I just bought a Honeywell industrial fan (now, that's a fan!), and it was made in the states. I went to Walmart last night to pick up some storage containers and they are also made in the U.S. Maybe Canada is the only country that can afford to buy U.S. made goods. (??)

Mingotree, another thing is seeing the box with the American flag on it. You'd think it was made in the U.S., but it's only the BOX that's made in the U.S. I guess the fine print is too tiny for most to read.

Yes, kraft and ironically I know a person losing their job in a factory that makes these boxes...it's going to China.

A bit off topic Mingotree, but it makes you wonder why the U.S. still gives China a billion dollars a year in foreign aid.

I buy toddler bedding sets at Christmas time to sell on E-Bay and I sell them at my Danville store. This bedding is made in USA and is good quality. Just look for a store that sells Dan River.
