I watched 60 Minutes last week and they said most of the guns used by terrorists/insurgents, come from the U.S. Since I know nothing about guns, I didn't know what models they were talking about, but they were like machine guns. Does that worry or surprise anyone?

It doesn't worry the NRA.

They were talking about ONE gun the .50cal rifle. Single shot but very powerful.

Also they were talking about Kosovo not Iraq or Afghanistan.

Neither worries nor surprises me......many terrorist countries get help from the U.S.

Don't think so. Likely the story is another attempt by the biased MSM trying to scare the unknowledgable public into another liberal sponsored "Assault Weapon" ban.

There is an abundance of AK47's (full auto) being sold by arms brokers throughout the mid east.

The AK 47 is the most popular weapon ever produced in Russia and other communist countries. Hundreds of thousands of them have been produced word wide.

Finding a full auto AK in the US and exporting it to a foreign country would be very difficult.

I work a number of local gun shows a month here in Texas & have never seen a full auto AK for sale by anyone other than by a class III licensed dealer. I have seen people that offered to buy one of these weapons under the table (without the proper transfer paperwork) from these dealers being arrested for their illegal attempts.

And I have never had any of the public offer to sell me a full auto weapon.

Again the full auto AK is too plentiful overseas to make it worthwhile to attempt to smuggle an illegally converted AK out of the US.

Current FBI statistics show that with the expiration of the assualt ban, there has not been a rise in gun deaths attributed to the once banned weapons.

So in my opinion, the story is as full of crap as Dianne Feinstein and all the other pro gun control crowd.

The gun owners here in America better watch out. If they own a gun that is used by the terrorists, the Patriot Act will assume they are terrorists or are supporting terrorist activities. They will then be arrest and charged as an enemey combatant and held without being charged.

Another typical Republican where they believe the government can do no wrong. Why do you have to sit back and wait for it to happen? Why do you have to let the government take away our rights granted to us under the Constitution one by one before you realize you have no rights left.

I guess you would rather sit by and watch your rights be taken away, instead of doing something about it. What would it take for you to stand up and do something about it. What right would you have to loose before you said enough is enough?

I think you'll find under this administration that the ban on assualt weapons expired and was not renewed.

So why would they insitute something like you are suggesting?

They already DID. It is called THE PATRIOT ACT. I guess you don't really know what is in it either - like so many of our congressmen that signed it.

Perhaps you should read the Patriot Act and see what rights it is violating and the broadness of the act. Basically the term "terrorist" and terrorist activity" are loosely defined that it can be applied to anything.

Obviously I am better aquainted with it than you are.

I ask again, or will you choose not to answer again?

Don't confuse the patriot act with the purchasing of guns. I don't like the patriot act but unlike you I do know what is in it.

So you're one of the crowd followers, today it's the patriot act. Next antigay marriage?

I did answer, you just don't like my answer. I am not going to play into your little mind games. The patriot Act loosely defines terrorist and terrorist activity. My example does not mean the government will do it, but under the Patriot Act it is possible.

The government already has arrested people that were pointing laser beams at planes and charged them using the Patriot Act. Last time I checked, the terrorsits haven't used any type of laser beam as a weapon.

With this administration anything is possible.

what you meant to say was:

"The government already has arrested assholes that were pointing laser beams at planes and charged them using the Patriot Act. Last time I checked, the terrorsits haven't used any type of laser beam as a weapon.

now-you think these people shouldnt be arrested,or would you rather see some plane crash land??

That is not what I said FUPA.

I think these people are stupid and should be arrested. However how is it possible to consider these people terrorists? If you do then practically any crime could be potentially labeled terrorism by this administrtion.

Well let's see. If you call somebody on the phone and demand money, you're an extortionist. If you point a laser at a plane to either target it or blind the pilot, I guess you're a
"terror"ist.

Seems to be the definition of the word.

And why cant the first person be called a terrorist? You are bringing terror into the life on the person you are calling.

Why can't a person who holds a gun to your head be called a terrorist?

Why can't a person who robs a bank be called a terrorist?

All the people in these examples can be called a terrorist since the are bring fear and endangering the life of another.

By the USA Act, terrorism is an "illegal" act that is intended to "intimidate or coerce the government or civil population" and is an "endangerment to human life".

This definition is so broad that it can be applied to most criminal activity.
