I've already mentioned that the UK is debating whether or not to deport these Preachers of Hate....looks like France, the European country with the largest numbers of Muslims is going to take the same path.

I hope the U.S. will follow suit also.

France ejects 12 Islamic 'preachers of hate'

By Colin Randall in Paris
(Filed: 30/07/2005)

The gulf between British and French treatment of preachers of hatred and violence was thrown sharply into focus yesterday when France announced the summary expulsion of a dozen Islamists between now and the end of August.

A tough new anti-terrorism package was unveiled by Nicolas Sarkozy, the interior minister and a popular centre-Right politician.

Nicolas Sarkozy: 'We have to act against radical preachers'
His proposals reflect French determination to act swiftly against extremists in defiance of the human rights lobby, which is noticeably less vocal in France than in Britain.

Imams and their followers who fuel anti-western feeling among impressionable young French Muslims will be rounded up and returned to their countries of origin, most commonly in France's case to its former north African colonies.

Mr Sarkozy also revealed that as many as 12 French mosques associated with provocative anti-western preaching were under surveillance.

Imams indulging in inflammatory rhetoric will be expelled even if their religious status is recognised by mainstream Muslim bodies.

Those who have assumed French citizenship will not be protected from deportation. Mr Sarkozy said he will reactivate measures, "already available in our penal code but simply not used", to strip undesirables of their adopted nationality. "We have to act against radical preachers capable of influencing the youngest and most weak-minded," Mr Sarkozy told the French daily Le Parisien.

Sorry Linda, I disagree, this is a land of freedom of speech.

We would go against that in deporting anyone for speaking. What needs to happen is to find clerics that will speak against those clerics.

Ron - You're entitled to you opinion and I'm entitled to mine.

Freedom of speech does NOT protect ALL speech....just remember that. And it certainly shouldn't be when they are calling for others to murder people.

Sets a bad precedent. So where would you deport KKK leaders? South Africa?

I am not saying there shouldn't be consequences for someone acting on their words, but just talking about it doesn't make it so.

Ron - just talking about it.....

so are you saying you don't believe what THEY [the muslim clerics who are calling on their followers to carry out the jihads are saying?

And that you think the only way to handle this is problem is to wait until they're carried out their bombing plans, killing innocent people?

Again, I remind you not all 'free speech' is allowed here in the US....

for crying out loud...hate speech is being governed more and more.... maybe you don't consider calling for jihad's 'hate speech' for some reason?

It is hate speech, however where and when have clerics in this country called for a jihad?

Hell we can't deport illegals now, how could we deport them?

Ron it really surprises me that you'd ask such a question. muslim clerics all over the world have been calling for jihads against the US and against our troops everywhere in the world.

Canada, the UK and AU all use filtering systems to keep those people from gaining entry into our countries. They know who they are and what they preach, and when they try to come into anti-terrorist fighting countries they are denied entry.

Here is but one cleric who was tried and convicted....but there are many other stories you could read about if you choose to google 'muslim clerics call for jihad holy wars against the US'.

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,16006838-2,00.html

I find it sad that our media isn't reporting much on these jihadists.....gives everyone the false illusion that they aren't doing too much ...just going about their business. But they are slowly and carefully planning on taking us down. American's need to wake up to this fact....and see it coming.

Its against the law in the US to shout fire in a crowded theater, why shouldn't the same apply to militants inciting muslim masses.

Just call them enemy combatants and send them to Cuba. That should take care of the problem

Better why not drop them off on a deserted island and make a reality show out of it.

Why should we deport the people that we don't like. Maybe the ones complaining about the problem should go live somewhere else if they do not like the laws here in the US.

Absolute faith has been shown, consistently, to breed intolerance. And intolerance, history teaches us, again and again, begets violence.

Bush was right. The truth did come out and the facts are he misled Congress and the American people about the reasons we should go to war in Iraq.

OMG, we agree on something. We may not like what someone says or how they say it, but it is one of the freedoms we enjoy here. All freedoms come with a price. The KKK is no better, IMO, and they are still allowed to operate and spread their message of hate. How many men, women and children died at their hands? Or, have we forgotten?

I agree with Linda. If a person from another country plans on immigrating and preaching their hate-filled version of jihad, hopefully our government would not let them stay. That should be a no-brainer imo.

I am full aware of clerics of other countries are preaching hate toward the west, but I am not convinced that this would be a good idea for the US.
I haven't read or heard of one in the US calling for a jihad against us. We have laws against all types of thing and those countries can certainly do as they wish.

But we are supposed to support freedom of speech. Doesn't mean there cannot be consequences for actions taken on that speech.
