I always love to hear everyone's garage sale, flea market, or yard sale stories from the weekend. Does anyone have any? (I decided to sit this weekend out. Last weekend's flea market just about did me in.)

it was all right....
got a BIG box of books for $4.00
found kid toys for baby showers
a blanket for my cats for .25
ohhhh... yeah.. I just remembered as I was typing.. the great deal of the weekend garage sales:
got a brand new VHS tape 'FANTASIA' for $3.00! it was watched 1/2 thru at the first time viewed (in other words, someone started to watch it and immediately was bored with it)
A friend of mine was looking all over for that tape!

All the yard sales I hit this weekend were weird. I mean, someone was selling a stained, ripped bra -- and refused to take less than $2 for it ... but they were also selling a large size leather jacket in excellent condition for $5! LOL! Too strange.
Best buy? A lady who was closing up shop at the Flea Market and let her remaining mostly new/unopened video tapes go for a buck a piece. She dropped the price while I was walking by -- we bought 'em all.

Xifene--LOL Every now and then we all have to do a mercy buying and put something out of it's misery. You should have ponied up and bought that poor stained ripped bra, donned surgical gloves and dumped it in your garbage. After all, the leather jacket would have been sorta kinda $7.00, my skewed way of thinking.
Off to the flea tomorrow!! Such high hopes! Me--the eternal optomist

Jeanyu -- LOL! I've done mercy buys before -- but we now live 16 miles from the dump where we hafta take our trash ... so we don't buy anything we don't have to that we expect to just trash. (Would you believe that a family of four can get away with only one large lawn/leaf bag of trash each week? The bad bit is that we also have to take our really silly amount of recycling with us... composting helps though...)
Good luck with the flea markets tomorrow... I'm taking Sunday off for the first time in a month or so -- and hoping to enjoy it thoroughly. I'm sure Father wonders where the heck we've been -- he'll be startled to see us tomorrow morning.

Actually found the WIERDEST Rummage of my life yesterday...at a "Storage Facility"...it was a "barter your price" thing with the storage building ownwers.
I learned 2 things
ALWAYS shoot REALLY low on the price, and NEVER
ATTEND AN AUCTION OF STORAGE BUILDINGS@!@!
I ahve read threads here before about buying the contents of storage....NOT FOR ME!!!
I have never seen so much crap in my life!!!...and to think if they had done a "Sight unseen" auction! YIKKEEEES!!!
Lesson Learned here!!!!
Keith (can you tell I feel rather adamantly about this?)
I assume full responsibility for my actions, except
the ones that are someone else's fault.
