Mama was the first Giant Panda to give birth to a cub here in the US, Since then she has now had two more. China reserves the right to bring foreign born cubs back to the mainland after the age of two to introduce new lines into their breeding program. Bay Yuns first cub, a female named Hua Mai stayed a bit longer but was returned to China and last year had twin cubs of her own.
