I have an idea! We are hearing now about these groups of idiots running wild in the streets with guns and firing on rescue vehicles and law enforcement. They seem to think that this is their neighborhood and no outsiders should be there. I think we should let then have it.
I think that we should have busses and flatbeds on the outskirts of these areas to gwt those that want to leave out of there and then on Saturday afternoon, when anyone who had an honest deisre to get out has done it, pull out completely. Don't worry about draining that area right now, don't worry about restoring power to it, etc. For two, three weeks, let the idiots be the reigning kings of their cesspools. By that time they should all be feeling like hell with no food, no drinkable water and after dragging their scraped up bodies thru stagnant bacteria laden water and somehow, I don't think they are going to be looking at those officials quite the same.
Once you have loaded them all up on the hospital buses, then respondents can start recollecting all of the "redistributed wealth".

Plain and simple, these people should be shot and killed and their dead bodies left where they fall.

Kraft -
But seriously - what do you think should be done with them? There are already problems with rapes and murders in the shelters, should these idiots be invented in to join them? the jails are flooded so there is no point in arresting them.
Pi - you are no fun. I know I sound sadistic but these guys have no regard for anyone else and personally, I think having to try to exist within that cesspool for the next week or two and deal with the ramifications (dehydration, infections, disease) of it would be much more poetic.

Where are the Swift Boats when you need them. Maybe Kerry could demonstrate how he got his purple heart under hostile fire.
I gave my liberal neighbors son a book for his birthday. He went crazy trying to find where to put the batteries.

Fenix, not all but most are under the most stress a person can experience, so there's bound to be uncontrollable chaos. It sure is a disaster. But you bring up a good point - if you committed a crime while under this much stress, would you be found guilty? What if it were thousands of people who committed crimes under the same circumstances like this?

Absolutely. Being under stress has no bearing on guilt or innocence - you either commit a crime or you don't. Being under stress may mitigate sentence or reduce a charge but it doesn't change the fact that a crime was committed.

"What if" in what sense? Is your implication that if thousands of people commit a crime it somehow becomes less of a crime? Just trying to understand where you are going with this.
