does it ever dawn on you back in ancient time when there were less people and cities/towns are more spread out,when catastrophe such as Katrina or earthquake hit,there is really no outside aid and the people who are trapped in the city will just behave like the folks in new orleans -looting and breaking in homes looking for food and water,forming gangs and roam the street,and killing and raping.
If the infrastructure is destroyed and the people cannot restore it,they will just descend to barbarian sort of living and eventually they go extinct or their descendents are what we find as backward natives ??
I often wonder why someone erect those tall stone statutes on Easter Island,may be it was part of a larger piece of land at one time,not an island?

I think it's referred to as survival instinct. The human need to survive takes over any logical thinking that was in place prior to the disaster. We're born with that instinct, but are taught as children to suppress it.
I watch a lot of the History Channel and when they show the archaeologists digging up ancient sites that have been destroyed by volcanoes, it's amazing to see people still there huddled together. They refused to leave their homes and became trapped.

The homeowners were adviced to bring axe and saw to the attic,I wonder how many are still trapped in the attic??
why cant they just go to the rooftop and then use a piece of wood panel or lifebuoy to float in the water??
the water is not rough,and they will survive in the water if they cling on to something which float??

It has happened in the past,what is that incident where a plane crashed in high mountain in South America and they ate the dead !

I need someone like you following me around making spelling and grammar corrections, I have to pay someone at work to get the service for free here. Hey could I send you some reports also?
Can't prove it wrong so you call it stupid, well that is your opinion, you're entitled to it.
Good christians I assure you are not running around like common thieves and doing those things.
But this would be a good opportunity to remove those people from society.

If you're only talking about the people who are looting, I'd tend to agree with you, with the exception of those who are taking food, water and medicines necessary to survive. I'd do it in a heartbeat and so would you. But the thousands who are trapped in their homes, waiting at the convention center or the dome and elsewhere aren't looting and pillaging for the most part, and it's dumb to speculate about whether they have religion or not. If you weren't, I stand corrected.
I get 10 bucks a page for proofreading....and it's grammar, not gramar.

Yes it is the ones looting non-esential items, beyond food and water, and those trapped are in no position to do anything.
I guess stopwhining did change the OP a little with the second post.
Yes I would of been right down at the old grocery getting things I would of needed had I been trapped in an area and couldn't of gotten out. I wouldn't have been down to the local best buy helping myself unless it was just for a battery operated radio.
This criminal element has placed a black eye on everyone stuck there.

Profe-you teachers are all alike.Whenever I type something for my wife on the computer,she always proof reads it.Invariably she ALWAYS finds a misspelling or grammer error.......Im ready to strangle her-LOL
