Is anyone useing the podcasts? I found them a couple weeks ago. that and the videos. Greatest thing t happen on the computer in a long time.
One of my favorites is TWIT (This week in tech) with Leo Laporte. You can get several of these at the iTunes music store and it's free.

I like the idea, of downloading shows in mp3 format, but I'm surprised at how many of these shows require that you download WINDOWS based softwaer just to be able t download shows in generic mp3 format.
I run Linux and can play mp3's just fine. It's GETTING the mp3's that I find difficult sometimes.
I'd love to get the Coast-To-Coast-AM radio show, but yep, you can't jus download it, you gotta get it through their special software.

I'm not a Linux user but I do remember seeing something on Call for help about a program for mp3 and linux but I can't find a search on the website.

I just found this site. It's the one they talked about on call for help. It's called fresh meat...As Leo Leporte said "bad name great site"

replay, I listen to Coast to Coast all the time. I looked it up on shoutcast.com, and when I click on the link, it opens as a stream in iTunes. You could use iTunes with a Mac or a Windoze machine, alas, not your Linux box.
I listen to podcasts now and then Colin, and you're right, it is possibly the greatest thing since pockets on shirts...wonder how long it'll be before the big boys co-opt it into another dumbed down commercial mess? Right now, podcasts are almost as anarchistic as the old net used to be, and I like it that way, don't know about you....

It will change.. everything does.
I think it may be like radio and TV were many years ago. Some will try to corral it for the big buck but I think a major portion will be by the people for the people.
