Anyone watch? I force myself, since Im going thru Survivor withdrawals. Last nights episode was a tad interesting....seems that Georges family and town got together to get everyone to vote Brittany off, and it worked. What do you think about that? Unethical? Fair game? Cheap shot? Its a game, so why not? Just curious as to what y'all think.

Hi Maui--never watched it yet--so have no clue what you are talking about. As far as Survivor--watched every blame episode--disappointed with the outcome and came to the realization----this time could be spent listing. Bah--Humbug
Get me once--shame on you
Get me twice---shame on me

Hey Jeanyu....sounds good to list instead of watch stupid shows...but then, once they are listed, ebay goes down just as they are ending...so maybe the shows arent too stupid anyway, eh?

Just so you know what Im talking about, one of the house guests family and town did a big get-together, and everyone called the number to vote out another houseguest. So, what they did was, they ganged on another person they targeted, to save the one guy from getting voted off. Sheesh...never mind...even me trying to explain makes it more confusing, lol.

Private message: Im not going to play this game. Im not that competitive and it aint worth it.

Hi Maui,

Although I find the show very boring - it is noise while I am on line since my favorite shows are all re-runs right now.

You explained it right.

A group of individuals was picked to live in a house where 'Big Brother' is always listening in and giving instructions on games, contests etc. Every 10 (?) days each member of the house chooses two people for banishment. Then CBS sets up phone lines at .99 cents a call for the public to vote on which one gets kicked off. The following Wednesday that person leaves the show. The last person on the show gets the money. They are not allowed to leave the house at all and all contests etc are completed in the house or yard. The prize is usually a large grocery allowance (how exciting!!) etc. People are pretty boring, show is a big yawn but with the two new controversies - it looks like it is picking up.

Controversy #1,
Jamie - from WA state - former beauty queen -is given the choice to either talk to her mother for a minute or a casting director. She chooses the casting director instead of her mother.

Controversy #2,
George, one of the most likable housemates has a wife that is insistent that he wins the money. She has organized their entire town by picking a housemate and continually calling in to vote that particular member off so that George stays and may win. You can call as many times as you like. A bar in town pays for the bill and the phone is on the counter and anyone can call. They picked Brittany this week and all calls made were to vote Brittany off and it worked - she was voted off.

My own personal opinion is - they are on the show to go for the money and as long as no rules are broken all is fair game. However; I find it interesting that once they are there and become friends, as on Survivor, they find the go for the gold attitude becomes somewhat unethical in their minds as these are now people they care about.

I guess we will see what happens - - - BTW - George has always really liked Brittany and does not know his wife has done this and most feel if he knew he would not be happy.

Too bad it is not more exciting as it is on almost every night - right around kids in bed and listing time

Ummm Maui--this thread seems to be sorta ignored by the AW populace at large so-----just a little hint---diversify. Ebay is not the be all and end all in on line auctions---Honest!!! Sorta think a yell when you jump into cold water and its makes you ennervated--yahoo. Whispering now cause I am sorta getting teritorial about my new home. It works--nuff said.

Lol jeanyu....but this boring thread beats seeing someone diss a lady like kel, doesnt it? And boysmommy, I have to agree with your post....and although it IS a game, I still think what Georges family did was wrong. Dont know why, just grates on me that they did that. And I wonder what George will think about it when he gets out? Also, he has come down in my notch a bit..with the ketchup thing and his stupid boob scene in the red room. Dumb.

I found out that this was not the show to watch if your suffering from "Survivor"
withdrawal. It is really not nearly as interesting.
Maybe when they get close enough to smell the money.
I guess you could look at the good side and say it is a much kinder view of human nature than the other show showed. At least the people are not conspiring (not yet) and setting up alliances to backstab the rest.

I think Georges' wife is just greedy and getting more swept away in the game than her husband seems to. He's just a dink.(and did not endear himself to the middle eastern population with his convienance store clerk impersonation)

Jamie - 20 something beauty queen with stars in her eys. I didn't expect her to pick her mom. She's seen her mom everyday for most of her life when is she going to get to meet a casting director? She's too young to realize it would have been better PR to pick her Mom.
What confuses me is they seem to all be surprized when "Big Brother" tries to stir up trouble among them.
Don't they realize that if it gets too boring
people will not watch?
I'm hoping to ween myself off this show by painting every night this week.I really am suffering from withdrawal.(and I usually watch only 3 or 4 hours of TV a week)

Tegan...I dont know why most folks think Jamie is "it". Personally, I think she should be cast as Jay Lenos sister with that chin of hers (sorry for being rude). And Im not really that impressed with her personality either. Someone somewhere said "stuck up", and I think it fits a smidge.

Mauimoods:

I don't think she is that hot either.
I think SHE thinks she is hot.Brittany was cuter even when she had pink hair.
Did you see any of the episodes with Karen?
Now that was a personality problem.I have never seen anyone with more things to complain about.

Tegan, yes, I saw that. Karen...all she did was whine and cry. Irritating (gee, this should be added to my "irritates me" thread). I was GLAD to see her go. But I can see why George bugged her too...he bugs me, too. I kinda like Cassandra. She tries to keep her cool. But, I liked Susan for a long time too, until I saw what SHE was really like. One can be fooled about people they THINK they see, but in the long run, find out different, eh?

BB is pissin me off....thay have TOTALLY screwed the whole thing up....
In the European versions, they braodcast 1/2 LIVE nitely, and folks flocked to it...in THIS case, CBS has seen the ratings go to crap, and have tried to introduce games to get the players upset...guess what...they are NOT playing along...
The ONLY thing that made the show interesting was conflict between the housemates...but the only 2 that had ANY personality were voted out in the first 2 votes!!
Now that they are gone, CBS wants to START controversy, but these people are too in "like" with each other to do anything to win!
I applaud George's wife for taking the upper hand!

My pick for the winner?...Eddie!

America HAS to love a guy with one leg who keeps up with ALL the rest of the house, and has the greatest quotes since Yogi Berra(Barris)....
On his way to the bathroom Eddie says "Gotta drop the kids off at the pool" I LOVE it!!!

The show is such a yawn for ratings and the advertisers are pulling ads so they have decided tonight to offer 20K to any BB housemate to take and run - off the show. They get two minutes to decide.

Then they have a 22 year old female, attractive, bitchy girl that will take the place of the person who takes the money if any of them does.

If I was Curtis or Cassandra I would take it. While I like both of them they just do not appear to be the favorites and probably will not be in the top 3 which = no money.

WHAT DO YOU THINK - should actually be interesting tonight for once

Maybe it WILL be a bit better tonight, but I wont hold my breath. George is starting to really make me sick, and although Brit was a bit of an irritant, she seems to have taken any spunk that was barely there, with her. B.O.R.I.N.G.

Maui,
Have to agree with you - George does some very inappropriate things and is wife using the town to gang up on other contestants I don't agree with either.

Jaime -
That girl has an ego that will not die. She needs a serious wake-up call.

The only one with any character left is Eddie - he is pretty amusing. Curtis and Cassandra are about as interesting as wet noodles although I applaud Cassandra's values.

We'll see tonight - I hope one takes the money so some spunk can spice up the house -

They started the amount at 10K but moved it to 20K to ensure enticement to one of them as advertisers are pulling left and right.

I wont tell either, but from this thread, I dont think anyone watches it anyway, lol. I kinda wish what they tried would have worked though...would have made Jamie have a bit of competition...and someone to "get in her face" a tad, eh? On the other hand, Im surprised they let you-know-who tell you-know-who what you-know-who said. And for you-know-who to say he/she was going to let it go in one ear and out the other...well...you-know-who BETTER think about what you-know-who said...because tis the truth!

I bet the producers had smoke coming out thier ears after this episode.
They can't cause trouble to save thier souls.

Amazing - no one took the cash. I'll bet when they get out of there the 'friendships' will wane and they will wish they took the cash.

What a laugh at the producers - let's try 50K etc. - nothing they tried worked. Although it will be interesting to see how Josh handles what he has learned - I wish he would have told George.

Some of my staple shows are coming out of re-runs this week so won't be watching much - keep me updated!!

That girl did look like she would stir it up and give Jamie competition. Poor Jamie who cannot even have breakfast without the make-up on.

Oh well...

After watching the back stabbing on survivor this is kind of cool. I guess it's much
easier to play nice when you don't have to eat rats and hunt for your own food in
100 degree temperatures. I hope they stay friendly with each other.
The producers of the show are having a cow by now. I was waiting for them to bring
that new girl on any way. I bet she was disappointed.
I hope Josh doesn't tell George. George will feel bad and he didn't do it. I can't see
any good coming of his revealing what Brittany said.

I think George knows what his wife is doing...they probably planned it before he entered the house. I wonder who his wife will choose this time. It seems to be whoever is the most competition with George. Probably Cassandra...

If the "best person" wins it should be Eddy or Cassandra but I doubt that will happen. I just hope it is not George, but I had hoped Richard would not win with 'Survivor'...

MaLady, that George is getting more and more on my nerves...can you imagine LIVING with him in that house 24/7? I would be bugshit, fer sure. Eddie reminds me of Richard on Survivor. He knows what he wants, and is playing the game. Im kinda glad Rich DID win now, after seeing and reflecting on it all. Cant wait til the next one

Well, by accident I stumbled on the show tonight. Im positive that George is definetly a doofus. Yup. Heck, even the website makes fun of his whiney voice now. Jamie was all surprised that Brit didnt want to talk to her, too. Gee. Wonder why. They should have a clue by now, what with all the banners flying overhead about ol doofus..er..george, and the megaphone gal who keeps blaring stuff to them over the wall. I would LOVE to see Jamie banished...and george too. The rest are OK in my book.

Sorry mybiddness...no more Big Brother, said I. Only if there are no more "Celebrity Survivor" threads
