I got suckered!! Spent the morning cleaning up leaves brought down by yesterdays rain because as well know, there's nothing quite like raking wet leaves (showing the house tomorrow - must show the beautiful lawn) and the afternoon packing rocks. Of course when I asked why it was that I was carefully packing a half dozen white crumbling rock that left me inhaling lots of dust and along with the dry air reminding me one of the reasons I originally left this town, I was informed... because they are Mammoth teeth. I swear, I have always known of my steps fervor for bringing home things that he considered "old" but this one takes the cake. apparently the fields where he takes the dog to run are a treasure trove of prehistoric artifactics. Every so often hetakes his more interesting dicoveries down to the Natural History Museum to have them examined. Along with the Mammoth teeth there are also a couple gorgeous old arrowheads dated at back to B.C. as well.

Turns out there there is an advantage to this aiding in the packing thing.... I get to put in early dibs on the good stuff.

Of course to keep things in context and me from thinking this might just be enjoyable, tomorrow we are hauling old tombstone pieces upstairs... I distictly remember helping to haul these pieces downstairs 20 years ago where they would soon be turned into marble masterpieces by my step. Strangely, they seem to look exactly the same as they did back then.

Sounds like a case of conflicting priorities where you have to consider the importance of the parental figures and the consequences of not moving the tombstone pieces.

To make a long story short, you will be spending another day rearranging the location of prehistoric dust and wet leaves and tombstones.

Good luck with the "good stuff"!

Hang in there, fenix. If theres anybody who can make something interesting out of hauling tombstones, (even if just some preoccupation in yer mind) - it sounds like you can!
