Three men were sitting together, bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.

The first man had married a woman from Maryland, and bragged that he had told his wife she was going to do all the dishes and house cleaning that needed done at their house. He said that it took a couple days, but on the third day he came home to a clean house, and the dishes were all washed and put away.

The second man had married a woman from Wisconson. He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, the dishes, and the cooking. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.

The third had married an Texas girl. He said that he told her that her duties were to keep the house clean, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, just enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher, and telephone a landscaper.

Good one Bear!
I'm going to print that one and give it to my Dads wife and he can see it after her. If i email it to him, he'll delete it before she gets a chance to see it.
It's funny because that's how he is with her. At the dinner table he can't even put salad dressing on his own damm salad, even if the bottle is right in front of him.

Pi, we don't set up anywhere but in Texas. The friend that I set up with at shows is a dealer (FFL holder). BATF rules allow dealers to sell firearms in their home state or in another state if they have a store in that state.

I don't remember getting married to you Maggie, was I drunk when it happened?

ActuallY I mentioned to DBL in the "There's hope for Bear' thread that I had a show this weekend.

I didn't make a majot announcement because I didn't want Sheepa. LD & Craw to gloat over my absence.

Bear, i believe you are incorrect about the BATF rules. I have friends from Wisconsin that come to sell at the big gun shows, put on by the New Mexico Gun Collectors Association, in Albuquerque and i know they don't have a store anywhere in NM. I've talked with other sellers from all over the country that sell at the shows in Alb. also.

I believe the only requirement is that you are the holder of an FFL and it allows you to sell all over the US.

You might want to consider it as these shows are humongous. I can get you some info on them if you'd like.

ed to add; There are special rules that do apply if you are planning on selling in New York, New Jersey and Massachusets and maybe one or two other states but other than that, the rest are open for sales if you hold an FFL.

Just as I figured, All talk and no action...

PI, seems as though your friends may be in violation of BATF regs:

May a person obtain a dealer's license to engage in business only at gun shows?

No. A license may only be issued for a permanent premises at which the licensed applicant intends to do business. A person having such license may conduct business at gun shows located in the State in which the licensed premises is located and sell and deliver curio or relic firearms to other licensees at any location.

Thanks for the info, Bear. I'll have to research it and find out how they are doing it. Maybe there's some sort of a waiver or something. I'll get back to you on it.

Pi, if they are selling "privately" owned firearms, it is legal up to a point. The ATF has ruled a private individual may sell firearms but cannot derive a "significant" portion of their income from those sales.

Also if the fireatms they are selling were manufactured prior to 1898 or are muzzle loaders they are exempted from ATF FFL rules.
