That is cute bunni.
We are doing non traditional this year with grilled pork loin and cranberry salsa.
Cranberry Salsa:
1 Pablano pepper, seeded and finely chopped;
1 cup of chopped fresh pinapple or canned pineapple tibits drained;
1/2 cup dried sweetened cranberries;
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion;
1 teaspoon peeled and grated ginger root;
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
mix all together and put it on the table.
I make it a day ahead to let the flavors blend. I take it out of the refrig in time so that it is room temp when serving. If I forget, I zap in the microwave for a minute or two to take the chill off.

Bunnicula, that was really good!
chimpchamp, I know just one person that 'broke' the tradition of Turkey. She makes homemade lasagne, she has been doing this for as long as I've known her
Your dinner sounds great!
Just a huge bird here with stuffing and all the other stuff
We are having 12 1/4 people here! And so I have to clean the house too-Yuck! and make dinner

We're putting up our Christmas lights today!
So, I'm a big kid.. I love everything to do with Christmas...even the soppy Hallmark home for Christmas commercials on TV!
I love the lights, the music, the smells, the decorations, the spirituality, the good will and cheer,family gatherings, the Baileys Irish Cream, pigs in blankets, turkey, plum pudding and especially the little ones opening presents...if I lived up north, I would go on sleigh rides, ice skate and enjoy cocoa by the fireside.....I love Christmas..yep..I do..love it...love it....love it....

That Cranberry salsa sounds fantastic!!
We are having prime rib. It's in the freezer and since it was not listed as an inclusion when the house sells, that's what we are having.
I'll be doing most of the cooking... what goes with Prime Rib and Yorkshire Pudding that's in season now anyway? I love cooking, just not much of a veggie person.

Ugh..Near... don't bring the horseradish anywhere near my prime rib.. no a tablespoon or two of Colamn's English Mustard (dry in a small yellow can) mixed with enough water to make a paste to rub on the prime rib before putting it in the oven.. delish..
I love Yorkshire Pudding! Veggies aren't my favorite either, but I like mashed carrots with butter and salt and pepper.
My mom was British and my dad a Scot, we grew up eating English bland food, so I never acquired a taste for spices..

near- If you put a little shredded sharp white cheddar in your potatoes, you'll have cheesy mashed. I add a little ranch dressing as well. For turkey, it's the basics. Plain mashed potatoes. I get a forkfull of potatoes, stuffing and turkey, all covered with gravy....YUM!
