Just got off the phone with roomies cousin who owns the house. Its located in Galway, on the west coast. It is a cottage, with 3 double beds and a pull out couch, and 6 to 7 people will be fine. RT air tickets from her seattle home cost her about 500, from washington to NY to Ireland....house is NOT 350.00 per week, but is instead 100.00 per day. If we have 5 women going, it will cost us only 20 bucks each per day. Rates for airfare go up after april 15th, roomies birthday is april 1st and she wants to be there at that time for the celebration, but cousin's birthday is also that day...and they may be there at that time, so we are looking at march 25th to the 30th? Sometime in late march, since we dont want to spend 900 in RT tickets. Just something to think on, dream about and work towards, yes?

edited to add that I didnt name Kel in the title...but youre coming too, ya know!

Maui
Wow, I never thought it could be that reasonable. I am really thinking of doing this! April is a good time for me - and healthwise it's good for me too (don't do well in Summer traveling - that is why I vacation in Oct.).
I will even take the pullout because I am hell to sleep with :lol
As soon as I get back in the middle of Oct. I will start selling like crazy.

Then I will take the floor, because Im also hell to sleep with...I roll around all night, bounce, kick my legs to lull myself back to sleep, scratch, sigh, heave yawns, cough, sneeze, roll over again...no, thats not right...roll the other way, punch my pillow, get up and walk around, go pee, put my head at the foot of the bed, get up and turn around the other way....I would probably be killed by anyone unfortunate enough to have to share with me...so I will take the floor, lol.

Oh Wow Maui! Now its this other person who lives in Seattle? (cuz ya know I'm in Seattle) So RT air is $500???? Thats inexpensive (in my mind anyway, when you think of Ireland and all!)

Yeah I'll have to talk to my daughter (19) and I also have to find this Bible again! because I know that name, I think it *might* have been written in there, Galway.... dang!
that would be too wierd!

maui

yeah!

I was just thinking, not sure how true this is, but my brother has been going back and forth to China, the first time, of course you need a passport, he told me it has to be valid for 10 months, though he could be wrong, I need to check that out.

I know you probably don't need a visa too for Ireland, but a passport, yes, of which I don't have, so I'll have to find out about one.. and the time limit, and how long they are to be valid, before you can actually use them. If you know different let me know!

Lol Eriu! All you gotta do is say so...roomie said 5 to 7 women...so just yakking about it. Wanna go?

Shell...roomie wants you to know that the O'Sullivans came from Ireland (thats her family), but dropped the "O" when they got here. Got any O'Sullivans or Sullivans in your family? And yes, the owner of the house lives in Seattle. I told her that your bible had names maybe from Galway...and she said to tell you what I just did. Email me if you want to talk further, more privately, about surnames, k?

Shell....roomie gets her passport from time to time...dont think there is a time limit, but I will ask her more details. Yes, we all will need them. Getting the details together so we all know whats what. Thinking since everyone is in different parts of the country, we will all just meet over there. Roomie and I will go a day early, so we can be there to meet y'all. Will post more when I find out more. Looking at March 20th thru 27th...thats 140.00 per person for the week. Or, you can stay 5 days, at 100 per person. Its a 3 bedroom home, with the loft having the couch (Nobs already made claim to that) and the satelite dish (guess shes gonna have a bunch of wemmen hollering at her to skootch over, eh?)....will be back to post more when I know more, k?

I really! want to, and not going to be positive for a bit..

was just looking up passports, and it looks like there really is no waiting time, I think that was for where he was going: a Communist country, so thats way different.
But you need your birth certificate (yikes I know I have it LOL) drivers license (I have that!) and a ticket to destination? hmmmmm but I am not sure I read all that right.

Anyway Trisha (my kid) is looking for that Bible, and screams 'Mom! Liz took it with her to school' she better not have!
I remember my grandmothers maiden name:
Tynan. I need to find that thing!

Seriously....roomie wants just wemmen...(sorry guys, but our hubbies would frown on menfolk...and it would cramp our style when Irish-Lad hunting at pubs)....and so far, its me, roomie, shell and daughter, Nobs. Eriu, you going?

Maui,

lol, I would LOVE to go, but remember me?? I'm the one that is afraid of flying. Unless I can drive to Ireland, I do not think that I could go, however, I was able to fly to Florida this past summer with the help of little pills that my doctor gave me!

It sounds like a blast, and Ireland is one of the places that I would love to go.

Eriu....we stand as we did last week, lol. I have my money for the trip and its tucked away. Only thing that could hold us up is if the roomie has something happen to where she cant go. So far, looks good. But I dont want anyone getting too excited about it until February...because one never knows what may happen. However, if something DID happen, the cousin of my roomie would still rent it out at the quoted price. Doesnt matter if roomie goes or not ....owner of house rents it out to those who contact her about it and date is set. So, assuming the worst scenario, those who want to go can STILL go, as long as the deposit is paid (will find out that info later on).
