Wow, this is quite amusing. Now, do the liberals get to cry foul as the Republicans use her emotions for their political gain? Really.... Orin Hatch, "Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch (news, bio, voting record) of Utah suggested that Alito's wife was upset with the comments of Democrats. 'She's sick and tired of the mistreatment of her husband,' Hatch said. He also said that she was suffering from a migraine headache."
I mean, isn't this exactly what the neocons have done with Cindy Shehan? Going as far as suggesting the left is using her? Martha-Ann knew full well that Alito would be scrutinized just as every other nominee has been scrutinized. But, we have gool old Orin crying foul. How about Martha-Ann and Orin shed a frickin' tear for every single soldier who has died since their buddy GW Bush sent them off to die. Maybe it will be news worthy then.

Alito's Wife Leaves Hearing Room in Tears
The wife of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito left his confirmation hearings in tears Wednesday.
Martha-Ann Bomgardner, who had sat behind her husband for hours of questioning over several days, left as her husband was being questioned by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (news, bio, voting record) of South Carolina.
"Judge Alito, I am sorry that you've had to go through this. I am sorry that your family has had to sit here and listen to this," said Graham.
Moments earlier, the senator had asked Alito, "Are you really a closet bigot?" The nominee said no, and Graham said, "No sir, you're not."
Graham's exchange with the nominee came after withering questions from several Judiciary Committee Democrats.
Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch (news, bio, voting record) of Utah suggested that Alito's wife was upset with the comments of Democrats. "She's sick and tired of the mistreatment of her husband," Hatch said. He also said that she was suffering from a migraine headache.
She returned to the hearing room after a committee break, smiling and holding her husband's hand.

What a crock! Ask a Question then say "No sir, you're not." What kind of response is that anyway? Stupid ass question like if he was a bigot would he answer yes? They are wasting time and upsetting people---- boo hoo. I am waiting for a theme song "Cry me a River"
I am thinking all politicians Republican or Democrats are just plain stupid and it is contagious....Only cured by an enema...

While I was thinking this whole 'circus' was a waste of taxpayer money...I changed my mind after wathcing how LONG the democratic Senators went on and on and on. Hardly giving Alito any air time himself...to answer.
I don't think their need to be in front of the cameras and keep yacking will slide by many viewers notice. They'll see what total jerks they are.

What would a Democrat president have done at that point? Apparently, the answer is: Sit back and wait for the next terrorist attack.

mingo- i saw that earlier today on CSPAN. that was really strange, especially for someone who claims to be all about "family values". my fiance asked me if i saw what she saw, and we both agreed that it was very machismo of him to walk past his wife, right out the door, completely ignoring her. that pretty much sums up my beliefs of him. he is nothing but a bigot, self-righteous piece of Bush crap, and if the Democrats don't want to do anything about it, then they obviously will have to lay in the grave they dug.
it amazes me how much rhetorical bs the neocons here spew about being anti-american, but what they are supporting is nothing less than fascism, and in Colon's case, homoerotic fascism.

I saw that going on as well. What a pompous bunch of grandstanding egocentric's. And they get paid for us to watch them perform on taxpayers money, too.

Funny Linda that you only noticed that about the democrats. I don't notice you mentioning that the same number of Republicans used the same amount of time to blather on. I didn't notice any of the republicans waive their time.
Face it - ALL politicians are bags of hot air, not just the dems.

Really would have flustered all the demoronics if after their long harang, Alito would have said, "Would you repeat the question?"

Since the preface to each question was a litany of reasons why Alito is not qualified to be a Supreme Court justice, he would be a fool to make that move, Bear.

Yep that would have made Alito look like a deaf bigot

Mrs. Alito sounds like another poster here on this board.

Colin, I see your butt buddy has joined you once again. Who gets to play priest and who gets to play altar boy when the two of you get together?
