I may have disagreed with virtually all of his political philosophy, but, there was never any doubt in my mind that he was always a decent and honorable man, representing the best values of the Republican Party...
There used to be many in the GOP that I could disagree with, but GREATLY RESPECT, such as... Barry Goldwater! Hell, Herbert Hoover was a lousey prez, but became one of the best ex-presidents in history, and a close friend of Harry S!
There used to be... HONOR...
As David Steinberg used to say to his dog: "Booga, booga, booga..."

I don't know about that. Don't you think they just got better press? Don't you think in those days the press was a lot more forgiving than today?
Think about those posts and discussions about whether we could win WWII today. It's the same thing. No politician today could ever win support from eveyone long enough to DO anything.
Politicians suck. They always have. The thing is that we're not supposed to have any heroes anymore unless someone chooses to tear them down.
Not that any of this really has a thing to do with President Ford.

Yes I think he was a honorable man and I have never heard anything negative about him except maybe his so called clumsiness. But hey I'd rather trip on a stairs than be caught with my pants down, and that is something a lot of the presidents were caught at. Heck I am always stumbling, ain't we all?
I wish him well and wow if I can reach 92 I will be lucky..

Can't touch this! uh huh, uh huh.

Truly an honorable man. He's at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage right now; I've been there twice for surgery, and it's an amazing place. There it is, on Bob Hope Drive, next to the Betty Ford Center, near the Dolores Hope Cancer Center. A person is surrounded by famous names.
Jimmy Carter is also one of my heroes, presidentially speaking. He's shown other ex-presidents how to retire in dignity, doing good in the world.
