A few times a week, while driving in my car, I tune in to the conservative talk radio shows just to see what they are talking about. In the last few weeks one of them, the John & Ken Show, has been simply incredible on a particular subject.

First of all, let me say that I voted for the Death Penalty--I firmly believe that there are some individuals who simply shouldn't be walking the earth, nor kept alive at tax-payers expense after what they've done.

Having said that...

The guys who star on the John & Ken Show are two sick puppies!!! They glory in it, they relish it, they veritably drool over it. And it is simply disgusting. It started a couple of weeks back with the Tookie Williams execution, and is continuing with the execution of Clarence Ray Allen, who is set to die in a few hours (12:01am Tuesday). Yes, these are men who deserved their sentences, and I believe that they used the appeal system to escape justice for many, many years too long. But I simply don't understand a mind set that slavers with delight over the event.

I don't know if people living outside of southern California receive their show, but does anyone else in this area listen to them?

I think they use overkill trying to be the opposite of the anti-death penalty groups.

Did you see or read any of the Tookie Williams protest?

I agree with you, it’s outrages.

I really don't care how many people are protesting. The way they have been going about supporting their own viewpoint in the matter is simply disgusting.

In fact, I often find that conservative talk radio shows in general go way, way overboard. Often they are talking about subject on which I agree with their "side," but in such a way that makes it impossible for me to say "hear, hear!" in agreement.

We have them here in the Great North East too.

I've called one and told him I was a true Conservative and thought he was an A-H.

I couldn't get it in fast enough and they bleep it.

Bunni, I think anyone who finds an execution exciting or encourages a party-like atmosphere when it happens, is sick or at the very least VERY immature. Don't you?

I agree Bunni. I think these radio talk shows oftentimes go to the extreme for ratings. Even when pissing listeners off, the listeners stay tuned in, because they are trying to call in and call them azz holes on the air.

When they hit upon a hot topic, they run it into the ground becoming more outrageous either side they take. The death penalty and subsequent execution is a hot topic no matter which side of the fence you are on.

Maybe the enthusiasm for state murder shown by the guys on the radio is a disgusting peek into the awful dimention of the barbaric and cruel nature of the death penalty... that you too, support. It should be enough to make you shudder and say, never more.

never more? Only when the murder rate is zero.

Brings back the days of public hangings when it was a sort of holiday atmosphere. Over 20 years of appeals? Sorry he got what he deserved.
