Maggie, classic will tell you Im sure. But its condition, condition, condition...that will have alot to do with the value youre able to sell it for.

DB-is correct. Are there any scratchs on the record? The condition of the cover-any tears or rips? Also has it been played a lot?
The one going for 5 grand is probably brand new and never been played.

Classic, Isn't the cover worth more then the record itself?

that might be the case colin-I dont know if anyone sells just record covers.....then again
I never searched for any. However at one time I was looking for old "Sun" records. When I mean old,Im talking about the old Elvis 78's not 45's. If you find an original Sun Elvis 78 in mint condtion-you have something thats worth a lot-and again I dont think the covers to these records were worth much-people want the 78 record with the Sun label on it.Then again Beatles "Butcher Cover"
but not the record was a collectors item at one time..might still be.I just it depends on what the record or cover is.

Maggie-if you read the description on the one thats going for 5 grand-that will tell you a lot.

That's old?

I used to buy them brand new at the Blue Note on Central Ave. in Albany, NY.

Chuck Berry was a favorite of mine then too.

I remember trading a friends older sister for one of his 78's, she introduced me to Berry.

I wish I could remember which of my mom's records I traded for that one.

Maggie, I am wondering if it would be worth it to list for 10 days because you might want to let it have a chance for people to see it or find it should they not be online? But then again, if they are the true collectors, they will probably have bookmarked and emails alerts for beatles albums, you would think.

Classic, there is a website where they just sell 45 and album covers. I found it one day searching for something...so, somebody must be looking for just those things too?

So then Maggie, what is your area of expertise? Dont tell us? Bridal wear, right?

That particular album has variants- you need to include in your listing the songs on it, and a GOOD picture of the back of the cover, detailed pictures of the label and the runoff, the part after the music on the disc....

Check that the songs listed on the label are the same as listed on the cover- and if you have access to a turntable that those on the disc match the label.

Being a Stereophonic version that early is a plus as well- that was in the days when the "stereo" record cost more than the mono- and therefore there are fewer of them...
