I would have taught all my kids the joy of automatic weapons but they were illegal in New York state.

Colin if you really want to see a MG show, talke a trip to Knob Creek, Ky. The worlds largest MG shoot . Happens twice a year, in April & October. Went there two years ago & it was fantastic.

Came home broke from all the things I bought to resell but did make an excellect profit.

I think it would be a lot more fun having a bunch of towel heads running back and forth across the field and have a few riding camels for varation....

Thank Bear.

Classic writes:

That's a very politically incorrect statement...but it sounds like fun.

I've got several wav files of just that somewhere on my computer.

I used to have a federal firearms license and could actually have full auto weapons in my possession, and did.

Scary thought isn't it.

Years ago it was $20. for a federal gun dealers license. You filled the form, filed the papers with the $20. That was it.

You were asked to keep strict records of all firearms and deals, you had to have a safe on your property (for the paper work) and they had the right to search your residence at any time.

They never checked my paperwork or records and never came to my house.

Things were a bit easier going then.

I could buy and sell nationwide. Carry any firearm from one state to another. It a lot of gun shows then and could always find a few fully auto pieces under some of the dealers tables. Fun, fun, fun.

There were a couple shops down state (closer to Classic) one made and sold (I think they still do) semi auto Thompson sub-machine guns and M1 carbines. Across the street the other dealer made and sold selector switches to make the guns full auto. Of course you can do pretty much the same (make them full auto) with a file.

Oh yes, One of these dealers sold a silencer body (tube that would fit a variety of guns) the other side of the street sold the internals to make it work.

Even with all todays new gun laws most of this stuff is still out there and obtainable.

So I hear.

lol colin. I hear lots of things too. But it's not like it used to be.... You know what was on the news today? A fifteen (or sixteen year) old kid was suspended from school and thus whatever sports team he was on (the big controvery of it) because he had 'consentual' sex with a teenage girl!! I didnt get the whole story, but apparently the school found out...and the part I saw was the girl's family talking about how it should have never been made public.

Is that not going a bit too far? If all the kids I knew growing up were found out to have consentual sex and suspended; there would have been no one left in school.... well hardly anyone maybe...

Machine guns are fun and way expensive to shoot. My bro-in-law police officer (retired now)at time had one fully automatic and license the whole 9 yards and I wanted to shoot it. Long story short --just as he said "it has a hare trigger be careful" it went off wasting I know over 50 rounds before I could get finger off trigger. I mean just seconds too. To answer your question yes I already had it aimed in right direction on the firearms field we were at way before I ever put my 20 lb finger near the trigger. Besides he only handed me the weapon with it pointed in right direction at the shooting stand and released the safety or what ever you call it on that gun. Scared the you know what out of me and didn't get to hit a target due to that hare trigger. Needless to say he was kinda pi$$ed at me but let me try again after reload and I did much better. only wasted about 10 rounds that time but sure demolished a metal target pig.

Sure miss those days of shooting. Father-in-laws passing stopped most of that since he was the expert and reloader of all out bullets.

Hey Colin, I called my wife in to watch the video and she got her panties in a twist all excited and wanted to go shooting, she has been shooting firearms since she was about 3 years old and that video gave her the bug.
Thanks God it is night and below 20 degrees here or she would be out in the Gun safe for sure.
