I know of several here who qualify...
Are you thinking of becoming a liberal? If so, consider the inconsistency and irrational thinking needed to embrace the liberal agenda:
*Rising gasoline prices are devastating to working Americans, but protecting obscure organisms at the bottom of the food chain is of greater concern. Which is why drilling for oil and adding refining capacity are unacceptable.
* Large profits are obscenely un-American, except when they come to George Soros, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and other liberals.
*Undocumented immigrants deserve driver's licenses to avoid breaking the law by driving illegally.
*The earning power of the average American worker is in serious decline; even so, America should grant amnesty to 20,000,000 illegal aliens who will work for lower wages and no benefits.
*Killing the sale of port security to UAE was necessary to protect home land security, but closing the borders with Mexico would unfairly "scapegoat" Hispanics.
*Bilingualism is essential in a tolerant, diverse society, except when it comes to Hispanics who are perfectly justified in refusing to learn English.
*Conservatives who work to preserve American culture and tradition are hate mongers. But immigrants from other nations must be allowed to retain their ''cultural identity'' at all costs.
* Execution of a convicted killer is cruel, unusual, and barbaric, whereas a woman’s right to abort the life of an innocent child is inalienable.
*Starving an innocent, hehelplessictim like Terri Schaivo to death is fine, whereas using lethal injection to end the life of a brutal killer is not OK.
* Invading a foreign nation is wrong, except when illegal immigrants from Mexico invade America.
* Discrimination based on race or gender is wrong. Except when waged against Caucasian men, in which case it is mandated by law and called Affirmative Action.
*Masculinity and all things male are the source of all evil, whereas feminism is liberating and spiritual in nature. Jesus was probably female, if truth be known!
* Freedom of speech must never be repressed, except when “hurtful” to any constituency of the Democrat party.
* Tax cuts are wrong if it means returning money to the people who actually paid taxes, but perfectly fine when sent to those who paid no taxes.
* Christmas, the Holy Bible, and other symbols of Christianity must be quashed so as to offend no one, whereas, Ramadan, the Koran and symbols of Islam must be heavily promoted in the name of religious awareness and tolerance.
* Businesses are oppressive, fascist institutions that must not be allowed to grow too large, while big government, when run by Democrats, creates wealth amd happiness and must be expanded.
* Military force must never be used, except when absolutely needed to advance interests not vital to the United States, or to obscure a Democrat president’s sexual misconduct in the Oval Office.
The big question: Are you mindless enough to be a liberal?

"Mindless" describes the sheep who follow Bush, who swallow all the lies, join him in hiding your bigotry behind faith and accept without question his effort to undermine human rights and all the values that real Americans hold dear.

I totally agree. They (Helen, KD, Kiara, Bidpeepa and Fenix, want to live in a Robin Hood environment and when their money runs out who will they whine to?

Apparently so. I don't see one thing on that list that I would argue with. Maybe you don't believe these things are true, but that is EXACTLY the impression you liberals give.

Libra63, just because I didn't approve of Bush starting a war in Iraq how do you jump to the conclusion that I am a sheep who would like to live in a Robin Hood environment? You seem to make huge assumptions about others that you know very little about.

Yes he does make a good point but how can we do that with the threat of terriorism. a threat that should have been stopped in 1999. If Bin Laden had been caught when he should have we wouldn't be in this situation.
We also can't be united when the country is trying to deal with illegal aliens, protests, and people that don't live in the US that think they know everything.
Hey BeBe. Saw a documentary on the devistation of Mississippi Sunday nite. During our nightly news they had a short with Brett Favre and he showed us some horrible sites. I just can't imagine anything like that and I am sure it is going to take a long time before things are back to normal. Praying that this year will be a mild year for hurricanes.

Common sense and rule of law danced in the streets of Georgia
when the Governor signed a tough, tough new law. Yahoo is the
source...link at end.
ATLANTA - Georgia's governor signed a sweeping immigration bill
Monday that supporters and critics say gives the state some of
the toughest measures against illegal immigrants in the nation.
"I want to make this clear: we are not, Georgia's government is
not, and this bill is not, anti-immigrant," Gov. Sunny Perdue
said at the signing.
"We simply believe that everyone who lives in our state needs to
abide by our laws."
The law requires verification that adults seeking many
state-administered benefits are in the country legally. It
sanctions employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants and
mandates that companies with state contracts check the
immigration status of employees.
The law also requires police to check the immigration status of people they arrest.
The measure is believed to be the first comprehensive
immigration package to make it through a statehouse this
session, according to the National Conference of State
Legislatures.
Many of the new law's provisions will not take effect until July
1, 2007.
The bill drew protests at Georgia's state Capitol and prompted a
daylong work stoppage by thousands of immigrants.
Tisha Tallman, regional counsel for the Mexican American Legal
Defense and Education Fund, said she was studying potential
legal challenges to the bill.
The new law will not affect emergency medical care and
educational benefits for those in kindergarten through 12th
grade, which federal courts have said must be provided
regardless of immigration status.
Exemptions were also added for some other services like prenatal
care and the treatment of communicable diseases.
The move to tighten rules in Georgia comes as lawmakers in
Washington wrestle with competing proposals to shore up controls
at the border, create a guest worker program and create a path
to citizenship for illegal immigrants already in the United
States.
Outside the Capitol on Monday, a few hundred supporters of the
legislation applauded loudly when word came that Perdue was
signing the proposal.
The crowd waved American flags and cheered as state Rep. Melvin
Everson, one of the Georgia House's two black Republicans,
denounced illegal immigration as a cancer and proclaimed: "The
last time I checked, America was the land of English — not
Spanish."
And they hollered as Republican state Sen. Chip Rogers, the
bill's author, called it "the strongest single bill in America
dealing with illegal immigration — bar none."
At the bill signing, Rogers said he has been approached by
lawmakers from South Carolina and Colorado who were interested
in crafting similar proposals for their states. Source
Apparently, the geniuses in charge of the May events have
finally realized that those idiotic marches harm their cause,
rather than helping.
The great article below chronicles the facts. Link to entire
story at end.
By PETER PRENGAMAN,
LOS ANGELES - Organizers of the movement that has led hundreds
of thousands of immigrants onto the nation's streets are split
over whether to press ahead with the next big protest — a May 1
national work stoppage and student boycott.
Backers of the protest want to dramatize the importance of
immigrants to the U.S. economy by leaving construction sites and
restaurants undermanned, crops untended and hotel rooms
uncleaned. They also hope empty classrooms will demonstrate that
immigration reform is a major issue for future voters.
Some are now afraid the split in their ranks could suppress
participation May 1 and cause the movement to lose momentum.
Liberals in search of an issue have taken on US capitalism and
the American Dream.
You know, the economic blessings that have made America the most
prosperous nation in human history, envy of the world and all
that. Part of the motivation that causes millions, if not
billions, of people around the globe salivate at the very
thought of migrating here.
Apparently that is not good enough for liberals.
Example: On Tuesday, Democratic Sen. Byron Dorgan attacked
capitalism by characterizing Lee Raymond's retirement package
from Exxon as a "shameful display of greed" that should be
investigated by congress. Dorgan even wants Exxon Mobil
officials to justify giving Raymond such a huge retirement
package.
Justify success? Defend prosperity? I thought those were GOOD
things, part of the American Dream. But liberals regard those
who prosper as evil doers (except for fellow liberals), who damn
well better be prepared to explain such outrageous achievements!
In other words, Slither below the bar, but never soar over it!
In truth, if liberal nutcases like Dorgan and Al Gore had
their way, there would be NO private oil profits or pensions,
whatsoever. Proceeds from gasoline sales would be turned over
to illegal aliens immediately after crashing our borders, AND
after showing satisfactory proof of registering as Democrats!
Mind you, I also find Raymond's retirement package to be a bit
much. But I also find these jewels ponderable:
-George Soros is a multi-billionaire who spends millions and
millions of his cash to support democrats and liberal causes. Is
that not 'obscene?'
-Oprah Winfey babbles on and on about nonsense that interests
only the unemployed or those on welfare. Yet she is a
billionaire. A very wealthy liberal. Fair?
-Katie Couric gets about $15 million a year for something. Her
smile? At $7.5 million per dimple, not too shabby! Of
course, she is a liberal.
-Martha Stewart---another darling of the left---is filthy rich.
Pity she achieved part of that fortune illegally...and paid for
it in the clinker!
-Hollywood's brightest stars earn multi-millions for churning out
pornographic garbage masked as movies. Oh, but Hollywood is
occupied by......you guessed it, Liberals!
How about Slick Willy and Shillary and their outrageous book
deals? Millions and millions paid for mistruths, misleading
innuendo and outright lies. But they are liberals!
Bottom Line: Anyone that makes more than I do is obscenely
overpaid.
Even so, capitalism is a hell of a lot better than what the
Democrats propose: Universal Poverty.......except for Limousine
Liberals!

Could someone tell where in that bill it says anything about language? There are a lot of very valid points in the bill. Even being the "Pro Mexico Radical" I have been labeled on this board, I don't have a probablem with denying public aid to illegal adults in non emergency situations which seems to be a big point of the bill. But now I have to wonder if this representative even bothered to read the bill that he supported since for all of the things it does say, one thing it does not seem to say is anything about language.
Of course it did make for nice "sound bite".

I think it has something to do the fact that he is an elected representative of the american people and an overwhelming majority of them don't think he is doing his job.
Of course, if the republicans feel that a who gives a damn what the people think is the stance republicans want to take, I don't think you'll find many democrats arguing.
