I bought a VHS tape of the movie 'Gladiator' at our local Dollar General store.
It does not play well,it makes funny sound like someone is either crying in the background or holding back his farts!
The color is rather poor,I have seen this movie many times and I know this cant be the real thing.
Can I return it to Dollar General,I dont see from the packaging which said it is a knockoff,it looks authentic to me.
Is it legal to sell knockoff ???

It's not a knock-off - it's called a bootleg.
If you want your money back just tell the store manager that you either want a refund of you you will forward a copy of it the local FBI. Afterall, bootleg CDs, DVDs, and Vuitton purses are some of the more popular ways that terrorist organizations are rumored to be making money.

I was on a beach in Mexico. I highly recoomend it.
As for where they get their material... they are either bootlegs of cut outs. You hard barely give VHS tapes away these days.

I have bought dvd on Ebay ,but I saw them at the store,so why not??no shipping fee.
My tv set can play both tape and dvd.

hwahawa-you pay no shipping fee,but you have to pay a tax-I call it an even exchange.Besides you have to pay for gas to go to the mall,so thats another expense.I havent bought anything in the mall in quite some time.I buy dvds,or blank dvds on Ebay because they are cheaper.
In fact I buy everything on Ebay. There are exceptions-I wouldnt buy clothing, jewelry, computers or when I get to it a Hi-def big screen tv.Everything is cheaper on Ebay,or a website and they deliver it to your door-how can you beat it?
hwahawa-since you asked about selling copies on Ebay-I thought you might enjoy this.Im not saying this seller does or doesnt, because I really dont know,I just happen to come upon one of his auctions and checked out his neg feedbacks. You can check out someones neg feedback without looking at the b.s.positives.Go to www.Toolhaus.org
type or cut and past the name below and you will just see the negs. The reason I put this here is that his replies are priceless
If you dont want to hear the truth....dont ask the question.

I just happened to be in the store buying household stuff when I came across these tapes ,so no extra gas and how much is sales tax on a 2.50 tape, cant be more than shipping.
I subscribed to Netflix ,some movies I just watch and return, some I would like to keep a copy so I can watch it again,Silence of the lamb and The Gladiator are both great movies.
The best movie ever made in my opinion is LAWRENCE OF ARABIA,I may watch it today!

Hehehe... I guess Ron and I can agree on this one. It is nice to shop in TAX FREE OREGON!!!! and for that matter, being an Oregonian shopping in Washington is tax free as well.

Ok,I returned the tape for a full refund and pulled 2 more from the rack and told the manager to send them back to the headqtr purchasing dept and let them deal with it.

Yes we can Rusty, I work in Oregon though and the Income tax is why there should be no sales tax. In Washington we have no Income tax, so Portlanders get the break here on sales tax.
Classic, that is the front the Oregon wants to project, truth is there are a lot of Oregonians that make me look liberal.
It is moving more right all the time and it is killing Portlanders, because they are the only ones that are mostly liberal, get out to other areas and it changes.
