My position is that most INTELLIGENT voters KNOW...raising the MW doesn't help the poor one bit.
A free market does. A market where TEENS [mostly] don't NEED a raise. They and others can start out at the bottom just like many other Americans have done.
Give them a $5.00 raise...isn't going to help those who don't want to work so they can advance in their field.
Get rid of all our 11-20 million illegals....and WAGES will automatically GO UP for this group. Illegals DEPRESS the wage for many, many workers....not just those earning MW.
And the poor don't benefit from increased wages....increased wages helps increase inflation...then THEY get to pay more for what they buy.
It's really a no-win situation.
PLUS IF anyone bothers to look at the average wage on the dept. of labor site....you will SEE that wages have been INCREASING all on their own....even with those higher fuel prices we had for a while.
beepa...you really need to educate yourself to the FACTS....then you won't sound SO very ignorant when you post.

Average weekly earnings rose by 0.7 percent in October to $573.25. Over the year, average hourly earnings increased by 3.9 percent and average weekly earn- ings increased by 4.2 percent. (See table B-3.)
