I thought I was getting ahead of the game and had my Employer pull $10.00 a week extra for taxes last year. What I failed to realize is that when Bush signed that new tax bill and I like a dumb-ass claimed 1 exemption for myself, married filing separately that I wasn't paying in enough taxes and would owe a bunch at the end of the year. My saving grace is my Daughter and Grandson lived with us for the last year so I at least will get a refund. I wonder how many other people did what I did. I will now claim 0 and have them take out the same rate as for single. Live and learn I guess.

I try to play it so I owe the government 50 or 100 bucks at the most. Refunds are for suckers as far as I'm concerned. Why loan the feds your money at NO interest rate upon payback? Such a deal....for them.

I guess we are suckers-we usually get around $3,000 back on an average.I know what you mean profe, but to us its a forced savings.I know we are not getting any interest on it,but I dont think we could save that much on our own.

My least favorite part about taxes is keeping all the personal and business stuff separate all year long. It's hell when I get behind in records and have to play catch up.

My wife will start her record sorting tomorrow. She is very patriotic and gladly pays what taxes she owes.

Me I am retired I only make what her accountant says the law lets my wife pay me. I might help her a little between my afternoon naps.

My son and my wife own it all I gave it all away years ago. I don't have a bank account, credit card or even a car in my name. Even my S.S. check goes right into my wife's account I never see it.

No job,no income,no holdings,no debt,no problems,no worries. It takes years to get off the Merry-Go-Round but its worth it.

One lesson a very wise old Jewish Jeweler taught me 30 odd years ago is that one comes into this world with nothing and leaves it the same way. He also said that jewels, diamonds, gold and silver were just pretty stones and metals but are not Godly like many believe.

Mr.Horowitz was a very kind man who taught me a lot about not only Jewelry but also about life. Mr.Solis (Sol) Horowitz thanks.

cblev65252,

Nice to hear from you again don't stay away so long.

Don't worry about me paying any attention to The Grunter and Donut Harry they are just jealous they don't have anyone they can trust.

I spend time now seeing what I can get from the system. Rich republicans believe this systems owes them and I believe it also owes me.

If you have a family or someone you can trust and are 50 or older go to a lawyer. Tell him or her in 5 years you don't want to be responsible for anything. They will get you started on getting off the (Merry-Go-Round) its not hard but it does take time.

So what do you do for walking around money, have to beg somebody for your allowance? No thanks. Nobody gets my money till they finish paying for my funeral.

profe51, said "So what do you do for walking around money, have to beg somebody for your allowance?"

In my family nobody begs and no one has an allowance.

profe51 also said, "Nobody gets my money till they finish paying for my funeral."

A more correct statement would have been, I hope nobody gets my money till they finish paying for my funeral.

You are smart enough to know there are several ways you could lose big amounts if not all of "Your Money".

None of us really own anything we only manage or in reality rent what we have until we can't manage or rent it any longer.

Want one example, Gulf Coast,New Orleans. Tens of thousands of people had it made one day and two days later had nothing and still don't.

Looks like a tax dodge to me. Didnt Al Capone go to prison for that.

Donut Harry and Buck Wheat Bear,

I got a laugh from your replies so I showed my wife. She never reads this board unless I ask her to.

She said, "From their posts (Bear,Classic, and Grunt) they obviously didn't live a life style that allowed them to nurture trust in anyone family or friends" and left the room.

My good wife Pat is critical of this board or any board for that matter. Pat thinks any board or chat room is a waste of time and many are down right evil.

If we all really think about it Pat is a lot more right than wrong about this board. Can any of us say we learned something positive on this board we already didn't know?

My hubby never sees his SS Check either, that is what pays our rent. I have several family members staying here right now trying to get back on their feet so we are all greatful the rent is taken care of. My husband has to spend out of his pay check if he needs money.

MAH645,
I truly hope your family is on the mend. Its been hard times for millions since Bushy and his republican lawmakers RAPED the American worker so badly. More reason for all of us working Americans to stand together and united to make our lawmakers represent us for a big change.

We are the Majority so lets work together to keep it that way. Don't listen to people like Liar_k and her flat out lies or half truths. Liar_K is playing the old new-con game called divide and conquer. She and others from the republican smear machine work very hard to turn us against each other. The "evil doers" republicans win that way

Its a good thing Bushy is now what they call a "LAME DUCK". He gave a speech in front of wealthy Americans the other day saying he wanted to open up even more "FREE TRADE" countries. Bushy is still saying shipping American jobs out of the country is a good thing for the American worker.

Don't forget its people like Liar_K,Bear, Stonehead, classic along with others on this board that CONED well meaning Americans into voting for BUSHY. Now millions of those tricked voters are paying the price for being coned and making a mistake in their vote.

The good news is we have all the republican NEW-CON lawmakers that have been so bad for the working American surrounded. We will be watching and defeating their every move both now and in 2008. Its going to take years to undo the harm to America these Bastards have done.

Buck Wheat Bear,

My wife hires a C.P.A. so that her taxes are 100% above board.

Her C.P.A. has also advised her to look into government programs that advance the cause and help a woman business owner.

Through the years lawmakers have made all these programs for their wives and families to take advantage of. The trick for my wife is the lawmakers couldn't limit these programs to just their families.

One day America will have a woman President. First we will have to keep people of your mindset in the tiny minority your in. Mingo has been telling you that and she is right.

She never reads this board unless I ask her to.

Is that because the words are too big for you, or is it because to cant comprehend the meaning of those words.

My wife hires a C.P.A. so that her taxes are 100% above board.

So its a conspiracy between you, your wife & a CPA to defraud the government of the taxes that you owe!

Who is going to add money to their inmate trust fund?

Keep talking, all your doing is digging the hole deeper for yourself.

Buck Wheat Bear,

Don't threaten me you fool! People like you are the ones that need to worry about your tax returns not my wife.

Again my wife's taxes are done by a C.P.A. and are 100% above board. Your so stupid you don't realize when applying for government programs she has to submit a business plan with to-date above board tax returns.

My God man you just don't understand very much about business. Like mingo says, your kind has been put in a "tiny minority".

Bigpeepa, it's just the way some of them are here. They can't seem to accept the way others live and seem to want everyone to live and believe as they do so they usually always resort to threats or lies if you choose to be different or speak your own mind.

They do it time and time again. Maybe all of them were whiney-ass tattletales when they were kids.

I am thinking that most all states have the same laws and as for the IRS that is nationwide. Now with that said SS is NOT taxable unless you draw it and also work then you are limited in the amount you can earn and that might be taxable, if it places you above a certain amount which most SS drawing people do not do as that takes away some of their benefits. So I think bigpeepa is safe from tax evasion, his CPA would know

I've just had a brain fart.

I now realize that Peabrain is in reality one other than:

Forrest Gump!

The foolish rants, the idiot mittens, the red galoshes with the buckles unbuckled and clanging as he walks through the mud puddles looking for frogs.

No wonder he doesn’t have a care in the world.

The world is not real to him.

It’s only an illusion of the one or two newspaper articles someone, probably his mom or dad, had relayed to him.

If only his mom or dad would have read him the comic section......He’s be a barrel of laughs (not that he isn’t.)

Amen,
