Representative Susan Davis of California asked Mr. Bush to explain why he believed a new “surge” would work when previous increases in troop levels had not. Veterans in her San Diego-area district, she said, believed the military was at war, not the nation.
Mr. Bush wouldn’t argue with the views of the veterans, but he asserted the nation was at war – a different kind of war that was “sapping our souls.” He repeated his belief that if he were called by a pollster and asked whether he approved of the war in Iraq, he would say, “You can put me down as a no.” Still, he expressed hope that sending 21,500 more troops would work if the Iraqi government stepped up.

Boy, logansdad...you sure don't mind continually making a FOOL of yourself.
The question and answer time was NOT open to the press. So your partial copy and paste DIDN'T come from the press....ANY press.
So where in the world you come up with these copies and pastes...heaven only knows LOL LOL LOL....but you obviously are too ASHAMED to share with us.
Try providing some RELIABLE SOURCE that quotes the President as saying any such thing. LOL LOL LOL LOL

Democrats Quiz Bush
By Jeff Zeleny
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. –- President Bush’s speech to House Democrats today –- 16 minutes, according to our watch –- was interrupted by applause 21 times. Respect for the presidency, it seemed, overruled any feelings of rancor toward Mr. Bush’s policies.
The only signs of apparent protest came from about 50 demonstrators, who gathered outside the entrance to the Kingsmill Resort & Spa, where House Democrats were holding their retreat, waving signs like “Out of Iraq” and “We the People are the Deciders.”
But that did not mean that Democrats didn’t share their differences with the president.
In a closed-door session, Democrats posed six questions to Mr. Bush. Among the topics discussed were: a strategy for Iraq, support for veterans, the forthcoming budget, energy independence and immigration policy. The Q. & A. session was off-limits to the press – in accordance with rules set by the White House – but several participants inside the room offered these snapshot highlights:
Budget: Representative John Tanner of Tennessee asked Mr. Bush who owned the United States debt, and whether there was a plan to lessen the dependence on foreign financing.
Mr. Bush was reported to have said that he did not know who, specifically, owned the debt. He stressed his administration’s plan to balance the budget in five years.
Iraq: Representative Susan Davis of California asked Mr. Bush to explain why he believed a new “surge” would work when previous increases in troop levels had not. Veterans in her San Diego-area district, she said, believed the military was at war, not the nation.
Mr. Bush wouldn’t argue with the views of the veterans, but he asserted the nation was at war – a different kind of war that was “sapping our souls.” He repeated his belief that if he were called by a pollster and asked whether he approved of the war in Iraq, he would say,
“You can put me down as a no.” Still, he expressed hope that sending 21,500 more troops would work if the Iraqi government stepped up.
And we ALL know no radical, Bush hater would EVER take anything out of context - now would they? LOL LOL LOL
Nope....no proof he said it at all....or that what he did say wasn't TWISTED like the liberals LOVE to do.
"The Q. & A. session was off-limits to the press â€" in accordance with rules set by the White House â€" but several participants inside the room offered these snapshot highlights:
Really? WHICH participants....what was their political leanings....etc..etc...etc. LOL LOL LOL
As I've said before, IF you Bush bashers find ANYTHING in print - you believe it without needing ANY verification, as long as it's negative.

I figured the google queen would not have a problem finding it.
Not what I'd call NEWS nor RELIABLE by any means.
Just like you using youtube.com as a reliable news source.
It's radical liberals giving their OPINIONS
Whatever happened to free speach. I guess free speach is something only you want and cry about when you do not get it.
NO quote that the President said ANY SUCH THING.
You have no proof that he did not say it either. Next you are going to say you were in the closed door session as one of the several participants.
So much for Linda and her sense of humor. If she can not copy and paste it from someone else, it is not funny.

I'll put it to you another way logansdad.
Imo, you REALLY should step back and read the NONSENSE you post here. I'd think you'd be embarrassed to see how totally STUPID you come across to other posters. How totally IGNORANT you must be to make such a foolish statement.
When you say something as stupid as "Bush doesn't approve of/support the war"......I believe most mentally SANE people would question your sanity.
I mean where have you been? Living under some rock or in a cave to be silly enough to say something that stupid?
I don't believe there's a person in this WORLD that would believe Bush doesn't suppport this war or doesn't approve of it. LOL LOL LOL
And again....you CAN'T prove what he said. A blog where anonymous [probably] liberals/dems are being quoted....I should say MIS QUOTED.....is NOT a reliable source. NO.
So play your silly little games....let posters/readers see just how 'waco' you are too.

NO most people would look at it for what it is HUMOR.
You are the insane one that takes everything so literally. You are the one that has NO SENSE OF HUMOR. Your SENSE OF HUMOR comes from all the and LOL's that you love to post on your messages.
Don't get your panties in a bunch.
let posters/readers see just how 'waco' you are
Most posters here already believe you belong in a mental institution already so your statement has no credibility in the eyes of the majority here. As I said before, Linda, you are one BIG HYPOCRITE. I think it is that needs to so sit on the doctor's couch for a while. Will your Medicare pay for that?
