I literally almost tossed my breakfast grits this morning after watching Hillary deliver her Indiana victory speech. She has spun her victory (in a much lower percentage than predicted) as a tie-breaker, placing her as the undisputed democratic contender. I am where Helen was a short time ago- how can I vote for Clinton if she is the candidate -slimy, placing her own interests above the party's and god knows, what else. This was an excellent opportunity for Clinton to exhibit graciousness, an attribute widely held by world leaders. Bill has grace, he would not have perverted the victory into an undisputed claim for the nomination. This is a painful time for Democrats - I would appreciate some acknowledgment of why they are staying in the race - what they have to offer that the others candidates do not.

Had to laugh last night when one of the pundits on Night Line said "Clinton is a lot like George Bush. She has no exit strategy"

I just do not get it -- do the democrats know how to get to the White house?????

They are allowing HRC to jeopardize what was once almost certain victory.

I do not care which anyone prefers,HER or HIM, this is stupid.

IMO

I agree - just plain stupid. If Hillary can't see the writing on the wall by now, why would anyone think she would make a good president? Obviously she is delusional and has surrounded herself with bad advisors (hmmm ... sound familiar? GWB?) If Obama were in her position, I would have expected him to bow out by now too. This election was the Democrat's to lose...and they just might.

She's the champeen fact spinner, isn't she? I believe Clinton is putting a Democratic win in jeopardy and the party has to be careful how they handle this. If they force her out via Superdelegates announcing for Obama,or pressure her in any way, it could anger her supporters into not voting or voting for McCain (how dumb!) If the decision goes to the convention, it does not bode well either. Last president chosen at the convention, who went on to become President, was Eisenhower.

I think HRC is using the sports philosphy - the season is not over until you are mathematically eliminated. She must be using that Republican fuzzy math where she believes she still has a fighting chance.

Another sports message that applies when it's clear that the game is over because one side has clearly lost the battle and has no chance of winning.

Hillary, turn the lights out The party's over!

She'll be done and out by this time next month. Plenty of time for Obama to concentrate on McGain. No worries.

Funny the whack packers are Obamanatics. Someone should quit a race where, if 2 states who voted early are counted, they are ahead in popular vote AND delegates, and a person who has won all the big ELECTORAL states.

Since pix is so confused, this is why she is staying in the race. And might just get the nomination at the convention when the back room guys choose who to run.

Numerically challenged Squirrel, your numbers are far off again. Even if we include FL and MI (which was agreed by all parties, in advance, NOT to do), Obama is still ahead by 85,000 in the popular vote. Or were you referring to the year 2000 primaries? Edited to add: the number crunchers are giving Hillary a 4.2% chance at winning the nomination.

HwaHwa- she won a predicted victory by a much less than predicted margin. She lost a predicted loss by a much greater than predicted margin. She is out of money because she has depended on old-school contributors who have already given the max allowed. She has already dipped into personal funds to finance her campaign. Continuing a hopeless campaign reduces the amount of money Democrats can spend to defeat McCain. For the good of the party, and to increase the chance of a democratic presidency, she should bow out now. Prolonging the inevitable another month or more is detrimental and totally selfish.
