Just about the same - a little better under Obama. THe break point seems to be incomes > than $300,000. Then we come out better under McCain.(that would be IF our income exceeded $300,000)

Yep, I did slightly better with Obama. It really makes me angry that McCain can get by with whatever he wants to say (debate...that Obama wants to tax the people earning $42,000) which is a lie and he has said it before.

We'd be better off with Obama's plan, too.

We do considerably worse under Obama, but that's no reason not to vote for him! Given the alternatives, we HAVE to vote for him.

The ironic thing is that it will once again be up to the blue collar Ohio voters who totally buy into the *BS* (aka bald face lies) spewed by the Republican party about how Democrats will raise taxes, send our jobs abroad, befriend terrorists and generally bring this country to its knees like Sodom and Gomorroh with godlessness.
911 call to Ohio - HELLO! What has happened the past 8 years? Are you better off? Don't you think fondly back to the days when the biggest scandal was WJC and Monica rather than the rape of America by Wall Street and oil interests?

The democrats can always move to Ohio and register to vote or is it too late?

Here's an idea: Democrats in Ohio who have family members in the armed forces overseas should contact them and make sure they vote - now!

Neglus: Overnight I was thinking we need to revive the old question: Are you better or worse off now?

Neglus - I would hope you wouldn't lump me or my family (blue collar workers) into that. There are many fine, fine people in this state who would never vote Republican. Granted almost all of us live in NE Ohio, but we are here. Please don't blame us for what happened the last two elections. Blame crooked election results.
Cheryl
Whitman said she and McCain share a philosophy of scaling back the role of government. a point of view partly shaped by her EBay experience. "The EBay model is very Republican in its essence -- it's about making a small number of rules and getting out of the way while not overtaxing the community," she said.

Oh Cheryl - I don't. I meant it figuratively of course. I just don't understand the mindset of the very people who have been hurt the most by Mr Bush et al. They are the ones that are jumping on the Palin band wagon , again. When are they going to get it? They are being played as fools. I think McCain showed the ultimate contempt for the American people in choosing Palin as his running mate. He knows she isn't ready but he doesn't give a rats behind. What does he care, he'll be dead when she is President.

I just had a revelation. I have an uber Republican aunt who is also pretty high society (at least in her neck of the woods). I am pretty sure she would never let the likes of Sarah Palin into her bridge club, yet she is (I am certain) going to vote for her as Vice President?? It isn't just the blue collar workers in Ohio who have been snookered.
edited to add more on my epiphany:
It just struck me that people like my aunt are behind Ms Palin because they, like McCain, hold the rest of America in contempt. They haven't been snookered. They are in on the snookering! Perhaps they will invite Ms Palin to speak at the next National Review Cruise http://www.nrcruise.com/. Sign up Squirrel! After this week on Wall Street there should be plenty of room!

"rape of America by Wall Street"
if you are referring to the generic pc handbook statement, ok. If you are talking about the current bailout, that would be 1999 when the e legibilities were lowered, with predictions THEN it would all collapse (in exactly the way it has BTW).

What are you talking about squirrel? What eligibility was lowered in 1999? Welfare? Oh, and BTW, are YOU better off?

that by itself is the cause?
wow.
sources?
Gramm-Leach-Bliley opened a can of worms by allowing the big banks to get into speculative loaning by merging with the investment sector. The huge thrift failures of the 80's should have been a warning in that direction.
Then the Bush Federal Reserve initiated and fueled the present disaster by printing up money like lunatics, and suspiciously lowering interest rates consistently the past 8 years.

What are you trying to say? Spit it out. You talk in circles and make no sense. Reminds me of Tina Fey's impersonation of Palin.
What do you think caused this Wall Street problem?
