I posted this in another thread, but in case you miss it:

http://billayers.wordpress.com/

For those of you who may doubt the power of hate, read his blog. It simply awful what people are saying to him and his family. Some want him dead. Shame, McCain. Shame, Palin.

Whitman said she and McCain share a philosophy of scaling back the role of government. a point of view partly shaped by her EBay experience. "The EBay model is very Republican in its essence -- it's about making a small number of rules and getting out of the way while not overtaxing the community," she said.

Ahh, they're so mean to the poor murdering terrorist "educator". I bet those same people probably criticize bin Laden just for bringing people closer to God.

squirrel - You don't remember the Vietnam war? Protesters, the National Guard shooting innocent college students, "traitors" to the military moving to Canada to escape the draft? Many people did many things during that turbulent time. People should not be made to pay for their mistakes over and over again. Sorry if you disagree. Ayers was a 1960's anti-war activist as were thousands of others in this country. No one is condoning what he did. I suppose you better label the National Guard as terrorists as well for what they did during the Vietnam war protests.

Spewing hatred never solved anything. It will never be a catalyst for peace.

Excellent reply, Cheryl. You really had to live in that time to understand the anger and frustration of a lot of the country. Viet Nam, segregation, an administration that did not acknowledge the feelings of those who elected them, students being mowed down, radical bombings, assassinations. It was a very chaotic time. There is no excuse for radical violence, but also no excuse for the National Guard shooting into crowds, turning fire hoses on civil rights demonstrators, bombing children in churches, killing young civil rights workers, killing 3 of the most important men of that century, Martin Luther King and John and Robert Kennedy. It would be good if we could learn from this history that Americans do not want unending, questionable wars, administrations who turn a deaf ear to the people and suspension of our constitutional rights.

I'll make this easy for you 2 dopes. If you shoplift at a candy store, you can see Jesus and be like anybody else. Murderers can not. And I'll use the legal definition when you use the "Billy never blew anybody up" response: Conspiracy, advocation, and direction of the crime equals guilty.

Squirrel,
Actually if you are going to talk about Jesus, he forgives any sin if asked and it does not matter if it is stealing a candy bar or killing someone. So unless you know the Bible, you just sound stupid.
A poll is not a prediction. It is a snapshot of how people are thinking right now.

"I'll make this easy for you 2 dopes".

Oh God of Superiority, why don't you try reading our posts before writing your condescending smart-a.. ones? Nowhere did I say that murder was acceptable. Ayers apparently went through the system and was not charged, due to a technicality. He rehabbed himself and is not blowing up anything anymore. He has not been convicted of anything, has led a useful life and contributed to society.

"If you shoplift at a candy store, you can see Jesus and be like anybody else. Murderers can not." Is this statement supposed to be your Christian judgment? Jesus, for those who believe, preached forgiveness. Who are you, besides an angry, bitter man, to judge anyone?

Well what d'ya know? The lead federal prosecutor of the Weathermen thinks it's absurd to link Obama to Ayers' terrorist activities too. Letter written to the NYT a couple of days ago.

As the lead federal prosecutor of the Weathermen in the 1970s (I was then chief of the criminal division in the Eastern District of Michigan and took over the Weathermen prosecution in 1972), I am amazed and outraged that Senator Barack Obama is being linked to William Ayers’s terrorist activities 40 years ago when Mr. Obama was, as he has noted, just a child.

Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen.

Because Senator Obama recently served on a board of a charitable organization with Mr. Ayers cannot possibly link the senator to acts perpetrated by Mr. Ayers so many years ago.

I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of “prosecutorial misconduct.” It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W. Mark Felt, an F.B.I. assistant director.

Was doing catch-up on the EO and read a whine from someone who once again claims that there are liberals who call names over here. Maybe she thinks desquirrel is a liberal?
