Hi,
I have a book that is a first edition by Rudyard Kipling. It has a hand written limrick and signature that apears to be that of Mr. Kipling. Do you know a cheap and reliable way to get it authenticated?
Thank you!

As a general rule, "cheap" and "reliable" are incompatible terms - and particularly so when connected with "appraise" or "authenticate".
However, you might tote it down to your nearest antiquarian bookseller to have him take a gander. Unless you live in the Boston area - where I know of at least two with eminently helpful staff - this is an unlikely avenue.
Failing that, your cheapest route would be to research Kipling yourself at the library - find some examples of his signature, handwriting, and any limericks he might have written. If it looks similar, you might want to include pix in your listing. But under no circumstances would I claim that it's authentic - only that it appears similar to the author's known writings.
