Yeah, he was sure quick to jump in on the idea of relaxed regulation and it's not surprising. If he could show that there was a CA response, and especially an improvement because of that idea, then he'd have a much easier path to follow in his ride toward deregulation of the industry across the country as far as environmentally generated constraints are concerned.
Good one for Gray Davis in letting it be known that CA didn't ask for, and doesn't need his help if that's all he's got to offer.

I have been quite impressed by Gray Davis's quick response to this crisis, and with the steps he has taken...Sure, on such short notice, there is bound to be some flaws, and some will criticize him, but I still remain impressed. And I sincerely hope we can do without white house intervention. That will be one more feather in Mr. Davis's cap

You know, I have to say something about this California power crisis. We in Utah are in the same power grid with Nevada and California, and I haven't heard any teeny tiny suggestion anywhere that Las Vegas tone down its lights. We are now being urged to not run our household appliances between 4 and 8 p.m. for the sake of those poor brown-out folks in CA. But What About Las Vegas????
