I feel that the posting of news links without any commentary or stated reason for posting said link constitutes spamming the forum. JMHO.

As a matter of courtesy to other readers, I concur with Spazmodeus' request for a bit of information.
I have my browser set to prompt for cookies. At times I have clicked on a link, only to find that the site attempts to set literally dozens of cookies before the page will load.
I am talking 25 - 50 cookies for EACH page.
I count each "No" click as I click it, so I know exactly. (It's an obsession, I know; I count many totally useless things. Want to know how many steps there were from the street to my front door at my childhood home? How about the number of pearls in my second-grade teacher's favorite necklace?)
So, please, when you post a link, also take the time to write a sentence or two as to what the reference is about. And it would be nice to know about excessive cookie-setting before I go offsite to read.

I disagree. Every member applied to be in the forum regardless it's content, and so anything found here could not be termed unsolicited.
At Spazmodeus' home he is free to set conditions, presumably, subject perhaps to the wishes of any other members of his family, but this, however much he acts like he thinks it is, is not Spazmodeus' home.
I would think that after all of the forced absenses which spazmodeus has endured he would be happy to be here under any conditions. But no, even though the likelihood of his having as much as begged to be let back in so many times exists, he no sooner is back and ensconced here than he begins his campaign of complaints in order to move the characteristics of the place he so much desires to be a part of to suit his own peculiar idea of how it should be here.
Someone wishing to counter the complaints of
spazmodeus might begin with an expression of the opinion that whining also constitutes spamming of the forum if the person so inclined did not share my opinion that by application for membership here the applicant expresses acceptance of all characteristics of the forum.
Nothing above should be interpreted to mean that I am in support of bobbysoxer.

he did use "JMHO" as a qualifier, krs
I'm crabby enough tonight if you join me in being crabby krs do you think we'd be dominating the forum with crabby remarks and consequently subject to possible moderation?
personally I think the full moon may have something to do with the sudden onset of crabby attacks in the general vicinity.
Or, maybe I will just have to put everyone on ignore again *sigh* and also request that they put me on ignore ASAP. Course they won't see this request. Nevermind.

Once.
even though the likelihood of his having as much as begged to be let back in so many times exists,
Never.
Best stick to the established news services, krs. Your own sources of information suck.
