Has anyone heard of a computer surveillance program called "Little Scout" that is designed to be kind of a "Big Brother is Watching" type program to track internet websites that are being visited via a network computer system?

Yes, Gravid, that's exactly what it is. I'm just wondering if it only tracks internet website use, or if it tracks e-mail, too. Anyone?
Linda: What the heck does TTT mean?

Muriel - Yep, James understood. I saw your question way down on the list and thought maybe if I brought it "to-the-top" (of the list) someone might see it who could help you.
Hope someone can. We need Meya back.

Linda, you never told me in that other thread what "TTT" means.
Here's how you "bounce" a post up to the top:

I went and searched using several services and could not find anything on the web about it. It would be unusual not to have a site selling it.

Gravid - I also tried a search but it didn't work. Think it's a bluff?

A bluff for what? Is someone daring you to use the computer for something against company policy? I would suggest making sure your computer is secure at night and on breaks. Someone could use it and you get the blame. Works the other way also.....
Does your company have a published policy?
This is too serious to play games with.
People are fired all the time.
If you have an IT manager they should tell you their policy straight out when asked.
There is no more reason to hide it than rules about anything else. If they fail to disclose it then it would make them look pretty silly in court.
Also if you don't have a secure password YOU choose it is hard to blame you for how your machine is used because the log can not establish it was you using it.

If you want to send e-mail and not have it on the e-mail log use the web mail service www.hushmail.com and shut your browser off when you are done.
They will give you an account with an autogenerated address - take NO personal info. and you can send high quality encrypted messages to other users of the system.
They may know you visited the site but they won't have the text unless there is a program on your machine recording the keystrokes.

Ok, to clarify, this is a message we got at work. I DO NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS. Some others at work do, I do NOT. My question is, do you think they're just watching internet access (which is what it says in the message) or are they watching e-mail, too? This is a small town bank - NOT very sophisticated. And, I'm not looking for a sermon here, just an opinion. Thanks!
"In order to assure the corporate computers are being used for appropriate business uses, there is a program running called "little scout" which lists web sites surfed by any computer on the corporate internet connection. This is now running!!! Remember the corporate internet policy. If you use your access to the internet inappropriately you may be disconnected, or worse. Use the systems available to you in the spirit in which you have been given access."

I would bet they had full info and a log of messages for the e-mail system long before they had any web watching software.
Not being specific about what "or worse" means shows a complete lack of understanding of what they would face in a court case with an employee. When you leave it to the employee to decide what the "spirit" is in which the access is offered you might as well not say anything. Anyone that unprofessional might try a bluff when they don't actually have any software. Basically you have someone running things who is so bad at expressing what he/she expects that there is no policy. They have asked you to set your own limits based on your best guess of what they want.
You need to work for a better company if you get any chance to do so.
