Israeli forces destroyed 30 homes with tanks yesterday in the Khan Yunis refugee camp in the southern Gaza strip. Two Palestinians were killed and wounding more than two dozen. Hundreds have been left homeless.

Take everything you hear from BOTH sides with a grain of salt. Supposedly the houses in question were on the edge and used as firing positions to shoot at Isreali's. If you allow your house to be used as a bunker what can you expect? On the other hand the Isreali's probably go in and plow the whole row down if any one house has been used that was. They are ALL extreme and will do and say anything for their side. I think the Palestinians are nuts to take on tanks and gunships with rifles.

Remember when the old Soviet Union invaded Afganistan? The afganies actually used rock-throwing catapults to fight against tanks and troops! When you're desperate, you use whatever you can!

I figured out the key to peace in the Mideast long ago, but nobody listens to me. I have written to the President, to Israel, I have dropped notes in the suggestion box at the supermarket.
It's simple, really: Get rid of all the rocks.
How many times do you turn on the evening news and see footage of Israelis and Palestinians throwing rocks at each other? Most of the major incidents seem to begin with rock throwing. Somebody throws a rock, somebody throws one back. Soon everybody's throwing rocks except for the police who are shooting rubber bullets. It escalates, somebody dies and a new martyr is born, providing justification for yet another round of rock-throwing.
But what if there were no rocks to throw? How many bad scenes would be avoided if the opposing sides had only tomatoes to throw? Or eggs? Throwing food is funny stuff. Enemies or not, within minutes both sides would be laughing their asses off as they were covered in dripping tomato juice and egg yolk.
