He might want to study the Socratic method....

But Snowyegret, the first element would be impossible for poor George.
Socrates relied on the precise definition of terms but poor George
can't find words in a dictionary because he can't spell or pronounce words.

What's done is done and cannot be undone
about sums it up for dumya.

Perhaps he could be so well spoken for us if he gave his press conferences in Latin instead of English.

jlpiece,

You have such profound thoughts...as deep as the bottom of the sea.
Every remark that you make is so exciting that I get chills running
up and down my spine. You contribute so much to these threads with
your well researched trivia and complaints... a sort of #*!@
and moan requiring very few words...really and truly awesome.

I am looking forward to more "compliments."

TITYRUS
By Virgil

This night, at least, with me forget your care;
Chestnuts and curds and cream shall be your fare;
The carpet-ground shall be with leaves o'er spread;
And boughs shall weave a cov'ring for your head.
For see yon sunny hill the shade extends;
And curling smoke from cottages ascends.

From the MCMLXXXII volume (1782 for anyone who does not know Roman numerals).

Bush impressed me for his precise memorization. How many of the rest of you complainers about the way he enounceates his words could do that? Ooops, I may have a spelling error or two, better clean it up before the p.c. police come along...

In the begining, God created the heavens and the earth.

My father went to private scghool in the South in a different era and was required to memorize many things. His manner of instruction was just completely different.
I tried memorizing some things just to see how hard it was and if it would make a difference in how I used something. I found that if you can rememember the conversion factors for english to metric units and a chapter or two of scripture people are amazed as so few do that anymore.

Too bad Junior couldn't have squeezed out a little time from his intellectual and academic pursuits to have read Jefferson.

gravid, LoL

You're probably right. Of course, we're assuming that he could read Jefferson, so the speculation is likely only academic.
