OK, Easter is over - time to fess up.
How much candy did you munch on today?
I did pretty good - only 3 malted milk balls and 1 slim jim (OK, it's not candy but I did manage to sneak it out of my daughter's basket so I will count it.)
I ate my bunny ears the other day ....

A slim jim was in your daughter's Easter basket? Was it nestled next to a tin of Vienna sausages?

I had the big goose egg, nada, zip, zilch. The Easter Bunny didn't come this year Does that mean he doesn't love you anymore when you're 30?!

Way, way way toooooooo much. My easter was yesterday and I am still eating the stuff. I am old enough to know better and I still can not help myself.
Obviously chocolate tastes much better at easter and it is a case of we must eat it.
Mouse, have a tim tam instead, just ask enchanted they are better anyway.
Hello Zoomin it is good to see you around.

Zip!
I quit eating all chocolate and later all sugars (except fruit) the end of February. I was recently tested for cholesterol and found an extra bonus! My cholesterol was always high due to inherited family traits...
testing at 267 when I was 25.
I kept it down to 218 or so because I am a
vegetarian, but had lousy HDLs. This time it
was 168, with great HDLs and low LDLs. I am
going to a holistic doctor in Rockville, Md. who thinks that sugar is the problem for higher cholesterol, not fats.
Just had to tell someone! Enjoying the Peeps threads, even though I haven't eaten them in years.... Lab Rat 4 GMOS

I was doing great until I went into Wal-mart Monday and saw all the half price Easter left-overs. Now I have a fridge full of Cadbury chocolate!
And I was doing so well....

None
They took away all my privileges: candy, smoking, cheesecakes, high fat and caloric foods and replaced them with fruits, veggies and low fat, low cholesterol foods.
I want my bunny ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you know you would be very surprised if you read all the ingredients on everything you buy? My eyes opened a few weeks ago before this heart attack and I spent 2 hours in the grocery store reading everything. My dh just went shopping last weekend for us and did the same thing. He couldn't believe what trash we eat everyday. Even names like Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine (to name just two because they came to mind) have high sodium contents. If they don't have high sodium, they have high cholesterol or high saturated fats! He picked up a so-called low fat item and a whole pork tenderloin. The low fat item had more fat than the entire pork tenderloin! And the tenderloin tasted better too
Hey all have a nice day!

Welcome back mtnmama, I am glad to see you must be feeling a whole lot better if you are able to post again. Good luck to you and continued good health.
Take things at a slow pace and let yourself recover before you tackle life head on again. The world will still be turning when you are completely well again, so just sit back and relax and let everyone else look out for you.
