Sugar, Sugar does anyone who has pets have a choice???? I never know which side of the bed I will be able to get out on as my Tigger chooses to sleep on different sides depending on his mood. He also decides when it is time for me to go to bed by chirping, meowing or yowling depending on how late it is. Gosh, and I thought I was all grown up and could decide for myself when it was bed time.
Your cutie pie really has the life...look at us, just like people head on the pillow...Tig does that too and Snores

Here I am (waving my hand wildly)! I'm guilty! My dogs sleep in the same spot yours does! And you're right; that's why I can't make the bed. The only difference is my dogs are usually sleeping on their backs with their legs up in the air.

Sugar - Does anyone else let their pets run their lives?
We have two dogs (a black lab and a Beagle) that run our lives, own our hearts and they don't even belong to us. They belong to our neighbor who own 4 dogs, 2 horses and 3 cats. Guess our two cuties come to visit us because they seek more attention.
We've been adopted and we feel blessed by the love they give us.

Our two toy poodles allow us to sleep in the bed with them. Cinnamon (the red one) and Sassafras (the silver one) are snugglers and you have to move them before you turn over.

We have friends out of state that can't come visit us because they have to take care of this old arthritic /diabetic cat that needs medication several times a day and they can't leave it with anyone. It ruins opps I mean runs their life.

Cinnamon is a diabetic too, and requires a daily insulin shot. Our SPCA keeps her when we go on vacation and charges a dollar a shot. Small price to pay for peace of mind.

our toy poodle had a habit of running around the house like a speed demon after she was given a bath. perhaps she was trying to dry herself off. she would jump on the couches and beds. last summer she jumped off the couch and let out a cry and started limping. she tore a ligament in her knee. it was surgically repaired with nylon fishing line and she is now fine. to discourage her from jumping on the furniture we put a dog bed in three different rooms. each bed has a small cover like a baby's receiving blanket. she eats green beans and carrots more than she eats dog food. she is 12 years old and seems to be getting more and more spoiled. or is it just that we are spoiling her more since the accident? LOL!

Stusi, are the vegetables raw or cooked?
We had a Weirmaraner who absolutely loved lettuce and carrots. He would chew a carrot until it was almost liquid...and always begged by the kitchen counter while I was making salad.

zilvy- we give her cooked carrots and canned(cooked) low sodium green beans. most dogs could do very well on a vegetarian(we are not) diet. they are not naturally as carnivorous as cats! our poodle, however, has the teeth of a young dog largely due to chewing on bones.

Just had to add my dog story since it's fresh on my mind--We have a Border Collie that is a stick chasing fool. Last week my sister threw a stick for her and instead of catching it horizontally, the stick bounced and she caught it vertically--down her throat. My sister pulled it out and we took her to the vet where he said there was so much blood and yuck down her throat he couldn't tell how bad the damage was. I expected that he'd just give us something to soothe her throat, but instead he said there was a 50-50 chance that the esophogas was so badly damaged she wouldn't be able to eat again, and we'd have to put her to sleep. He recommended keeping her at the office where they'd feed her only through an IV and then they'd check again in 5 days. Needless to say, it was a scary week! But-- they scoped her again yesterday and found the damage was healing nicely. It was wonderful when he said "I can't believe this is the same dog I checked last week." Yah-hoo! Everything depended on that checkup yesterday because both vets (we'd gotten a second opinion) said if the damage was bad there was no way they could repair it. Whew! Even though she's still coughing and gagging a lot, what's one more throw-up mess on the carpet if it means she lives!!!!!

Thank goodness for a happy ending....poor pup probably didn't know what hit her...
Now I wonder if she will even want to catch something like a ball (sizeable enough not to go into her throat) Maybe a frizbee?

My dogs eat fruits and veggies. They especially love bananas, especially if they can peel it themselves
I dont bother to make my bed. Soon as I get up, they get up with me, then when I hit the pc, they go back to bed.

My name is Jack, and even though it's obvious that I'm a person like anyone else, people tell me I'm a Yorkie. I sleep with my mom and dad, and even though I barely weigh 5 pounds, I'm an *excellent* bed hog.
My mom has a special chair for me in her eBay room, and she puts my very own pillow and blanket in the chair for me, and that's where I sleep while she's on the computer.
My favorite activity (next to sleeping upside down) is watching out the window and keeping our yard free of any critters like neighboorhood dogs and k-i-t-t-i-e-s (Mommy has to spell that word, or I'll go bananas!) and squirrels.
Here's a photo of me asleep in my chair, after a long day of critter-watching. Boy, do I have it rough!

One of the good signs we saw while she stayed at the vet was when we stopped by to visit and take her for a walk, and all she wanted to do was pick up sticks, pine cones, rocks, etc...whatever she could find for us to throw. Needless to say, she didn't get to play that day, and the vet says NO MORE STICKS! (That command is going to be hard to keep!) but playing with a ball would be OK in a few weeks.

Muriel -- Most definitely! But what's even sweeter is Yorkie puppies! Jack and Taffie have had two litters. It's a blast watching them grow from little fuzzy black floppy things into precious puppies! I wouldn't mind breeding them again, but we've decided not to. She had 6 puppies both times, and although she did super with them, we don't want to overdo it.
Here's a photo of the second litter (3 boys, 3 girls).
(goofed the photo!)

My dogs hold the banana between their front feet & pull down on the peel. BUt I warn you, this is extremely messy!
I have also discovered since getting my lizards that my dogs love broccolli, cilantro, cawliflower & the all the various other veggies I feed their scaly brothers & sisters.

Wish I had the means to show you a pic of my beloved dog - she's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, going on 12 years of age now and full of arthritis but still cute and cuddly all the same. Your pics are adorable.
Lost my other Staffy not long ago, he swallowed a half chewed up tennis ball and perforated his bowel - killed him. No more tennis balls around here from then on.

Braxton is cute, is that a Beagle? I had one of those when I was small, but she "ran off" into the woods one day... at least, that's what my folks told me. I'm not sure if that's the real truth or not. I was only 4 then and I still question my mom about it.
Kazanne, I'm sorry you lost your loved one. It is never easy.
