While browsing Yahoo Auctions today, I happened on a auction for a verrrry expensive item from a seller with FB 13. The high bidder was "new" (you see this a lot on Yahoo)

I checked the Sellers FB and found that none of the FB was newer than January. The odd part was that of the 13FB he had received all but 2 were from users with (new) still behind their ID's! This guy didn't even bother to leave FB for these brand spanking new users who had paid him on the average of $2,000 each!!! The two remaining buyers had a (1) behind their ID's. Yep, they had received a rating from this seller.

OK, I thought what are the odds of having your auctions bid on by new users only? Those who have not bought before or since bidding on your auction????

I clicked on his "closed" auctions and found he had sold 8 items in the past month. Of course, he has not received or left any FB for any of this transactions.

I was curious so I checked the buyers and sure enough all 8 are (new)!

None of these bidders have bought anything before or since bidding on this guys auctions either.

Must be bid shilling I murmer to myself....so, I check the "about me" pages and find that not one of these bidders is from anywhere near this seller. They are from every part of the country but his.

I became so absorbed in this, I let time slip away from me and was startled to learn I had spent over an hour on this. That's when it hit me........

I realllly do need to get a life!!!

Can anyone tell I'm bored with a capital B?????

Part of the reason for shill bidding on YaHoo is to lower the seller's listing fees.

Start at 1 cent and have a shill boost it to your real starting price. It saves on listing fees.

Sounds to me like this guy should be one of Yahoo's "Premier Sellers" if he's not already. You didn't mention it in your post, but I'm guessing he also has a 100% sell through.
