My neighbor came over yesterday to inform me that 3 juveniles (wanted for burglary) were arrested loitering in my front yard while I was at work.
Apparantly they had not made it into my house when another neighbor called the police.
To make sure there were no others in hiding the police entered my backyard to check out my house. They left my gate open and my dog got out. She ran loose for 3 hours (she is not easy to catch). Now that's not the worse part.
The police officer found the back door unlocked (long story, don't ask) and trecked in doggy pooh. All across my living room carpet and he did a pivot in my son's room (ground into the carpet with grass). But that's not the worse part.
When the police officer left, he did not close the front door securely. It was slightly ajar. But this too is not the worse part.
I walked all around the house to see if anything was missing. That's when I saw with fresh eyes my house...
Now the worse part...
I saw the 3 towers of romance books on my dining table, the 2 large boxes overflowing with more romance books under the table, the 6 bags of romance books that have sold but I have not packed up under my computer desk, the 3 shelves of mor romance books waiting to be listed, and the pile of romance books next to my computer that I need to write a descript for.
Ughhh, they must of thought I was a pretty lonely woman.
