I'm asking this on behalf of my hubby. He's a big kid himself and wants to someday have a business related to toys and hobbies for like-minded "adults."
His passion is model trains and accessories for his layout. You should see his immense joy when a die cast truck or something arrives in the mail.
Do you have any kidlike hobbies? Does anything make you feel like you're a child at Christmastime all over again?

Getting an Easter basket. Or going down the toy isle and looking at all the cool Barbie stuff!

I know it's an old, and worn out expression, but here it is. Those of you tired of it cover your eyes.
What separates the men from the boys, is the price of their toys.
All who were in fear of being nauseated can open their eyes now.
I've worked on cars since I was 12 years old. Learned mechanical, upholstery, body work, painting, trim, etc. One of my hobbies now is auto restoration. That makes me feel young, not a kid, but not my age either. I've found hanging on to some things you enjoyed when you were younger, keeps you young at heart. If I end up in a wheel chair someday, I'll more than likely modify that too.

My Dad has recently acquired a Cushman scooter. I know he feels like a kid again when he rides that. He had one as a teen in the early 50's. I think he's reliving his childhood. He may be enjoying it more now that he can afford a nice scooter rather than the junker he had as a kid.
My Mom will get down on the floor and play jacks with her grandkids. It's a hoot when she kicks thier rumps.
Both my Dad and my FIL are incredible with a yo-yo. I think for all of them it's re-living a thing from thier childhood that makes them feel like kids again.
For me, I get down and wrestle my kids. I also tell them stories much the same as my Dad used to do with us. Both of those illicit all of the nice childhood feelings again. I grew up on the back of a horse. When I ride now I get to experience all of those free feelings again.

Nothing.
And, that's pitiful.
We all should have something in our lives that brings out the kid in us.
I told my husband I was going to buy a badminton set. His reply: "Why?"
It takes 2 to play Badminton.
He is 57 going on 97.
Think I'll trade him on a 27-year-old.

Mr. RainyBear,
Good for you!!! Don't ever allow yourself to lose that kid.

femme,
Better yet, get a bicycle and then you won't
have to deal with a snotty nosed kid.

UpInTheHillsMy husband just bought two Cushmans and a Lambretta. I never realised how much he wanted a scooter. It must be a second childhood thing.
For me, it's winning a tacky plastic bracelet - the more rhinestone studded or confetti filled, the better. We both like to skip rocks and play croquet - very competitively.

Driving my purple Firebird around town. And then seeing the looks on kids' faces when this "old lady" gets out. (Well I AM over 40!)

saabsister, is your hubby going to the Lincoln or Ohio Rallys? My Dad's going and he's acting like a kid at Christmas.
