I'm hoping someone can direct me to a site(s) with reliable statistics pertaining to online auctions. I'm looking for such information as: volume (both number of auctions and dollar value), growth, predictions, etc.
If anyone has any ideas where I might find such information, I'd welcome hearing from them.

Jeeze! I left hte auction forurms at the beginning of this year, since all the topics were going in circles. I seem to trecall on many, many occaisons, there IS a reliable thrid source that the auction companies hate. I don't have the URL for you -- just letting you know that it exists and someone is likely to help you find it.

I don't know where you'd get reliable stats. eBay has some stats they post from time to time. The last stat eBay gave that had me spinning was when they said:
...our customer survey indicates that, overall, the feature (Recommendation e-Mail) has been well received, with over 80% of all users and 70% of sellers with feedback above 1000 liking the feature.
eBay says their survey showed overwhelming approval, but on the message boards there was virtually universal contempt for the feature. So much for eBay stats.
