During the Clinton administration the arsenic level was 10ppb. Bush raised it to 50ppb. Whitman has promised a lower ppb in the year 2006.

You guys wouldn't believe how my water looks sometimes here in this tiny town. I don't even drink it because it actually gives me a stomach ache. I filled up a pail to water my flowers yesterday and it was greenish/brown. When you call the water people here, they only say, "well, we've had it tested and it's safe to drink". yummmm........a nice cold glass of iced brown water.

One thing about bushytail and his cronies: they is consistantly ....far-sighted...
The Tax Cuts are to be spread over a 10 or so years period.
It would take ABOUT 10 YEARS for the Student Testing in Public School to show ANYTHING AT ALL...
Heard on NPR news that all of TODAY'S kids would be long out of school before the program is fully implemented.
And now, the ARSENIC level would be lowered to a DECENT level by 2006? Man! Plenty of time to die...
bush is really setting up whoever the next Pres will be, to become the fall-guy for all today's screw-ups....
BTW: For days, I had myself LOCKED OUT of AW and EBAY...due to a glitch in my ZoneAlarm.... Thought I had been booted out of both....phew!!!!
******** Gosh Shosh!

Since this hit the media, maybe Baby Bush will back his butt down like he did with testing meat going to school kids. The media is the only thing that's going to stop him from allowing Corporate Giants from posioning us all.
What kind of Man do we have in the White House? One that's going to say it's ok to have 5 times as much Arsenic in our water???
I really wanted to give Boy George a chance, but if this administration keeps it up (Particulary with the posioned food / water crap), even some of his own party is going to bail out on him.
How can anyone be so stupid as to allow the arsenic levels in our water to go up.
Who Need's a stink'n Sig. File?

Doesn't it feel that if you were thinking of voting Democrat again, that they need to go more than the extra mile? Do they not need to prove to us of their worthiness? Shouldn't they show us that they are willing to stand up for us, our kids, our health, and our constitutional guarantee of privacy? You would think that they would need to become OUR advocate in Washington, not Big Business. Can we not even expect them to LEAD and show LEADERSHIP, rather than just begin great deal-makers? Why do they think that we'd want them back when they are so afraid to rally the nation and do what they were voted into office for? It is conceivable that they have to prove to us, the voters, that they understand that it is NOT Big Money that gets you elected, it is the VOTES who get you elected (or now, the Supreme Court). The least election was so rife with voter fraud and ballot-box stuffing, I wonder why the Democrats aren't out there making a stand to fund a more guaranteed accurate voting methods take place?
You see, just because they are beginning to have some backbone doesn't impress me in the least. They are going to have to show me that they are willing to be OUR advocates, to show LEADERSHIP and to rally the nation against the inherit evils of the Corporate State now in power. They are going to have to discipline members who vote with the Republicans on anti-American/anti-Consumer legislation by expelling them from the party or some such SERIOUS means. They CANNOT continue to play this game of "Now we're for ya, now we're screwin' ya!" business.
Is any of that making sense to you?

What they want is a Dictatorship, with those who have a lot of money as Dictators -- a Ruling Class. I've been around these people before and I've seen them positively drooling at the prospect that they might be able to become "royalty". The old system of running things is what the Republicans want: those who have a lot make all the rules, the rest have to kneel before them as they pass by because of their obvious "superiority". And for those who don't have as much property and wealth, there's always the Theocracy that they dream about -- and they imagine themselves as self-styled Popes to pass on Papal Decrees to the ignorant zombie masses with.
Don't let the Republicans fool you for a second - they're FOR more money for themselves, simply so they can overturn our Democratic government and make it into their royal playground! They actually BELIEVE that there ought to be one dictatorial power who rules by decree to the rest of us -- just listen to the nonsense that they spew out. Yumm! Democrats or Republicans -- it's all the same anymore.
