to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade kids:
Why do mosquitoes buss in your ears?
I think that mosquitos buss in your ears because they want to see you make a fool of yourself when you start slapping at them! Then, they fly away, and you end up hitting yourself.
I think that mosquitoes buzz because they are warning you in mosquito language.
I think mosquitoes buss in people's ears because they want to make you dumber. I think they want to see your brain.
I think mosquitoes just like to bug people. They just want to be noticed.
A long time ago, all the animals had to choose a sound, but the mosquitoes were late. The only sound left was buzzing, so they took that sound.
(Courtesy of my local paper). My personal favorite is the mosquito language answer. LOL!

LMAO, hep!
Do you mean to tell me I've been wrong all these years?
I've made a fool of myself all on my own?

When a man is watching tv, and his wife is speaking to him (about something very important)...
at first he hears a faint buzzing sound.
It grows louder, and louder.
It becomes very annoying.
So he must SUCKKKKKKKK himself out of the tv with great effort...WHAMMY! BOOM! CRASH!
He looks at her and with disgust says,
"Whaaaat???????!!"
And she says, "Nevermind." and walks away.
On the other hand, a woman is watching tv and her husband begins speaking to her. She looks at him attentively, smiles, replies to every inquiry that he makes with careful detail.
They turn back to the movie that they were watching.
He says, "What the heck happened!?"
She looks at him very attentively, smiles, explains everything that happened on tv (with careful detail) while he was speaking to her.
