For the many of you that have been following our progress, we have a special announcement. Vintage Marketplace Cooperative and its subsidiary, Ali-Baba's Bazaar..et al, has terminated the services of its Marketing Manager, Cathy Orosi.
Ms. Orosi has at times, been a poster to this board as a voice of Vintage Marketplace Cooperative. However, any further postings by her shall be of her own and NOT as a representative of VMC.
Sincerely,
Mark Davis

For the many of you that have been watching the cooperative movement grow, seen my posting and worked with me to build the Vinatge Marketplace Cooperative, I have an equally special announcement.
Mark Davis and I were equal planners in the VMC. I don't believe you can fire someone who is not an employee because they disagree with you. Nor do I believe you can claim my work and planning as your own by simple proclaimation.
The ZD site is his even though 90% of the wording is mine because his name is on the account and the same for the Ali Baba site. Ali-Baba is definitely his name. I guess posession is 9/10 of the law.
The cooperative movement is getting a nice black eye over the squabbling in the last few weeks isn't it? From day one our detractors said that we couldn't work together long enough to get a site online.
Well the site plans and promotion ideas are still in my head.
Good luck. I will separate myself from your version of this cooperative willingly. I did 80% of the work and you obviously saw a lawyer- seems fair to me.
Anyone interested in working on a vintage cooperative that can realistically be online in November- please contact me.
We need a vintage destination site- not another auction.

Hi, Cathy. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. I wish we could work together but I know nothing about Vintage stuff, don't sell or buy it. I am working on putting together a general co-op site. I'd be happy to work together as much as we can, if not working directly together, we could promote each other's sites or even just trade links. I wish you the best of luck. Steve

Cathy, As a "previous" volunteer of VMC, I will be more than happy to help, with any future ventures for another vintage co-op. I saw no truths to any of the accusations handed to you. I think your management & 'people' skills are highly deserving of a great co-op.
I saw great promise with VMC, and I'm sure I will again, with another site. I found your enthusiasm contagious, and your acceptance of all ideas, an asset. It was a pleasure to work with you, as I'm sure it will be again. Anything you need at all, I'm just an email away.

I'd like to echo what Tina posted; I am another (now) former volunteer for the VMC. I will be pleased to work with Cathy Orosi on any further plans for a vintage co-op.
Heck as much as I don't want to add any more darkness to the various Co-op movements that were flying out there it is funny how after they get just so far there is this one single person with Enough power to just toss * volunteers * left and right Cathy you are right you cant fire a volunteer and no one person can toss out any individual of group where all have a say and a vote.
Here is the funny part these groups claim to have 400 or 500 supporting members yet these words only seem to be seen and heard from one !!!..
I would like to see or hear on this board or another from the many hundreds of other supporter of this Co-Op Idea who voted Cathy no longer a part of that group.
Cathy I don't Know if you Been Following all of the post as of late but there is a way to have a working site up far faster then months online, In fact Twinsoft followed an Idea I put out there and in less then a few hours had a working auction site up that works listing and bidding less then a few Hours work.
No it not Pretty at this time its right out of the box so to speak but working for testing and beta use the cost of the software $0 cost of the server $0 donations ask for from the Auction Community $0 .you cant beat that can you take all the paper work and writeing and Idea you got go to Eversoft.com down load the free software you can build a server to run the auction site on right on your computer or you can get space for it for as little as $36 per year write me for the addy of this host if interested you have enough HTML skills to open vintage auction site with the support you have now could have it live in less then 12 hours.
I just got in from work and am simply OVERWHELMED by the good wishes and offers of help that I have found waiting for me!!
From the bottom of my heart I thank you all.
My work for and defense of the cooperative movement is pretty well known.
To those antiques and collectibles sellers who want online homeplace where you can transact business profitably and safely; I want you to know that I have not worked for 5 months- 40 hrs a week on a marketplace just to see it proclaimed someone elses property. The 2 sites belong to someone else. The ideas don't. That vision of an antiques and collectible site lives on. I am going to continue working to see it become a reality. The name will be changed-- the ideas are the same.
I have spent 16 years in advertising and marketing and 20 years in antiques -from the mall show circuit to coop space to my own shop. I know where we need to go and have an idea on how to get us there -with a lot of help from my friends!
Actually, I just may take the freedom of a few days at AW forums as someone who doesn't represent any co-op. I will have to think about some good coop threads to start!
