I have looked at the new auction site. I hope that you will not be using that software to launch your co-op!
That is shareware software that is not designed to handle more that a few hundred items. I seriously doubt that it would even handle fifty active members without either crashing or becoming waaaay too slow to tolerate.
There are some good software packages available, but you will need money. This $50 shareware stuff is certainly not your answer.

This beta site is just that, a test site, not necessarily what the actually site may or may not be.
It's a starting point for the co-op movement. This spirit needs encouragement as well as constuctive critisism.
I believe the creator of this site has said that it is just as much to stimulate discussion as it is to be functional. So in either case it's a good thing for the auction community.

Hi, auctiongaurd. The auction software is not shareware, it is open-source GPL (freeware). It is not intended to be the final product. It is a demonstration, a visual tool. Once we have a bigger membership base we should consider upgrading the software.
It isn't clear how many users the software will support. Some have suggested 1,000 and other say 10,000. There is a speed fix available which I haven't installed yet as there has been no degradation of performance. We opened this week and we currently have about 25 members and a similar number of auctions. We are still in beta testing and the software is performing very well.
