Notice: Illinois residents are charged 8.75% sales tax by ubid. They refer you to their help section where they inform Illinois and Tennessee residents that they are charged tax, but they do not inform you of the amount until after the product has been shipped. They refuse to respond to my complaints so I am sponsoring a ban on using UBID. ALL IN AGREEMENT PLEASE CONTACT UBID DIRECT TO COMPLAIN.
If you are in Illinois or Tennessee, I would call your stated department of taxation and complain. I know in my state, I MUST give the sales tax amount upfront. If they are charging your credit card, I would think they would have to give you an itemized bill. Item + shipping + sales tax.
Some states allow sales tax on shipping, others don't.
