Thanks to that $1.00 sale they have had I have gotten tons of new buyers, I know I"m going to end up with over 50 items sold, and muliti buys so customers aren't shelling out a ton of monies for shipping.
I of course didn't think all of this was going to be bid up to high priced items, but it was a very fun way to clean house without doing a garage sale...
I like my SELL THRU right now, and to heck with all the negativity...
And you can find me on bidville under justjoansetc, at least I'm not hiding.
I see so many views by a few people on these boards, but no where do I see where they are selling. I get the feeling all htey do is try to pick fights and neither sell nor buy anything. !
Go Bidville,
Ol bitties Opinion,
Joan

eseller004 some are a little bit of a loss but not as much as if I had had a garage sale.
Everything else is a profit, now not a big big profit but a profit. And yes it was cleaning house. A lot of cleaning house.
Very enjoyable, and have a lot of new buyers looking at it all.
I consider it a success in the fact of the amount of merchandise that did get moved and finally sold.
I'm a happy camper, but tired too, not used to 48 auctions closing winners on the same day, and then having a phone dead cause the phone company decided to mix my dsl and phone line wires.

I have bought a number of items on bidville( not high items) and ended up buying from the same sellers a number of times. THese sellers were great people. Bidville is always making what I see as positive changes and I find it the easiest site to list on and relist etc. I also think it is a very friendly site. I have never been able to sell anything on that site but hope it takes off! I do most of my bulk selling on ebay sad to say as I get most of my bids and sales there! but I am thinking of moving many more of my low end items either to yahoo ( don't believe I wrote that one!) and also some to bidville. I thought the $ 1.00 sale was great~ great to get people to that site and great for sellers. The biggest problem for me is that I sell mainly books and their categories for books are not great~ too large a category for the items I wish to sell to be even seen.
Good luck to all you bidville people ! for the first time in 2 1/2 years I am taking a break from auctions for at least a month~!

Well it's been a long 24 hrs getting all those auctions closed and info out to customers. Had so many multi buyers that had to wait so that they could save on shipping etc. They all got good buys, I got a bit of profit and can say I wouldn't want that many items closing at the same time unless they were say in the 1000 buck range.
I've met a lot of nice people in this little venture and I also took the time to buy a lot of good interesting things.
Good Rummage sale.
Now I still say the sales are there, and of course coming slowly, but heck I get more sales on bidville than I'm even getting close to on Y...And E is a very select maybe sell there. I'll stay with bidville and the happy folks there, no grousing like I see in some spots.
I'm still a happy camper with the site.

I think there are quite a few sellers on BidVille that have had some very pleasant experiences, especially during the $1-sale.
I was absolutely amazed at the amount of listings I closed with bids. Sure, not all of them had multiple bids but I can live with that. I had one auction get 'hot' and sold for more than I originally list the item for, and another listing that I'd never listed get up to a fairly decent price, just on the verge of hot.
Overall I made a profit and quite a few buyers got some super deals.
I'm sure that BidVille isn't the 'perfect' auction site--I don't think the perfect site exists. But I've used quite a few smaller sites for my listings and I do have a better sell-thru rate on BidVille than anywhere else (except for when I was listing on the big site).
I know sellers who list in specific categories that close almost all of their auctions successfully and many with multiple bids. Granted, the over-all sell-thru percentage is low--no arguing with that, but those who actively list and promote their auctions are doing reasonably well.
I put up a few brand new listings last evening and all the time wondering why I was bothering since today is a holiday and it's the middle of summer (and people tell me NO one bids during summer time). When I checked my auctions a while ago I already had a bid on one of them and the bidder is someone I haven't seen on the message boards.
I know new users are registering with BidVille all the time. During the $1-sale I sold quite a few non-sale items as well. Between the $1-sale and the non-sale items I ran into quite a few newly registered users and more who had been registered since January but had no feedback.
Truth is, if sellers list good merchandise (I don't save my good stuff for eBay) and keep their inventory fresh the buyers are going to eventually find something they like.

I have to agree, I don't list low end, I list all the items on Bidville I have.
Well not quite all, still have a couple hundred more to get going on.
But sales are working and I'm quite happy with the nice people I met during the sale and the over all merchandise that got sold.
It was a winner all the way for me.
This is a nice site, no matter what anybody says.
