While this may be true for selling alot of items,it isn't if competition is so great on an item you have in your inventory that you can't give it away on E-Bay.Some things I carry such as T-Shirts do terrible on E-Bay.But I can list them on another site and I get regular sales.I also am seeing where alot of sellers listing items for a penny or $1.00 opening bid are ending up with just that.I'm glad its their inventory they are giving away and not mine.

It may still be the King but the King of What????? If you are talking about the counterfeits items on this site your are right they are the KING. Plus do think the KING cares if you receive one or not.....NO....They only care about one thing and its the $$$$$$$$$ these sellers makes them counterfeits or not......

I've had some phenomenal success stories on eBay. But eBay is not the kind of venue if you're looking for the "right buyer." Case in point. I listed a molecular modeling software program, and older version but still in the original wrapper. Original list price $2,500. It sat all week at $1 and closed at $1.50. That kind of item needs to be parked until the right buyer comes along. It might be appropriate for an eBay store, but honestly I haven't even checked them out yet because I am so discouraged with eBay's user-unfriendly policies. My eBay days are coming to a close simply because I don't enjoy selling there any more. And yes, eBay does turn a blind eye to copyright violations.

twinsoft,
I agree with you. Most of my items need a certain buyer, my items are not something everyone collects, etc... When I do list on Ebay, I usually do not sell on the first or second try. Then it just isn't worth the money.

I agree eBay is king--and the peasants are revolting!
Now, back to the topic at hand I've been doing fairly decent on a couple of other sites. Granted, I don't have the sell-thru rate I did at eBay but I've got a much better sell-thru than I ever had at the smaller sites a year ago when I tried listing on them.
Anyways, I figure everyone needs to do what they need to do but I don't need to bow to the king.
