There is another poster on this forum, (whose name I am not mentioning), who has taken it upon themself to try and decide that people can not place words in their auction titles that this person takes a dim view of.
Now how would any of you feel if someone had the authority to tell you what you can and cannot use with your auction titles?
And what would give someone not affiliated with the site the right to make that determination?
I would call it censorship, or attempted censorship, at least.
Maybe next this person could tell us what they think we should, or should not be listing. It is already obvious that this person is trying to "hamstring" a legitimite auction site, by constantly posting false figures about the site. Now this person is trying to control others even more, even going as far as telling the administration of a site how they should be punishing the transgressors.
What is worse, is that several people seem to agree. They are obviously not thinking about the possibility of this person ever not agreeing with everything they do.

Have I missed something? How can a person be a censor when they have no authority to censor? Only the auction site has that right to censor.
What every poster here has a right to, is give their opinion about what would make an auction site credible to buyers. Or do you feel that only certain people should be allowed to express opinions? That is my book IS censorship.

By the way, I don't agree with a lot of what Dimview has posted over the past few months. I just feel strongly that he has a right to express his opinion.

Nope, Jimhhow, I don't have any problem with you expressing your opinion. It's when you run to the moderators to try to prevent another poster from expressing their opinion that I have a problem.
Isn't it odd that it is left to a Canadian like me to remind an American of the right to free speech. How many of your countrymen have died to protect that right?

I understand where you're coming from jimhhow. I agree with stockticker that people are entitled to their opinions, however, constantly expressing those same opinions by starting thread after thread, all within a day or two, doesn't serve any purpose. But that's just my opinion.
If this person really wants to accomplish something, those concerns might be better addressed with the powers-that-be at BidVille. Whether any of us agrees or disagrees, we still don't have the power to mandate any changes.

stockticker,
I do respect your right to your opinion, I just want to make sure I understand it.
Let's see, it is okay for dimview to call for an auction site to suspend users when they have not violated any TOS. However, it is not okay for me to ask AW to suspend a poster for an infraction of their CG's.
Maybe that is the way rights are interpreted in Canada, but I am in the USA.
The only "right" you have in the USA, is the "right" to fight for your rights. Unfortunately, that doesn't usually happen until you get extremely angry.
History shows us that many people who immigrated to Canada from the old world also died fighting some of the same enemies that the USA had. So I won't belittle their "expenditure" on behalf of your right to be confused, misled, and MISINFORMED.
You, along with every other User, are entitled to express your opinions provided those opinions conform to the requirements outlined in the CGs. It is not appropriate, however, to start a thread for the sole purpose of discussing another User you have a disagreement with.
Please do not continue in this manner for it may jeopardise your posting privileges. I urge you to utilise the "ignore" feature.
