Yup, and its looks like ePier is putting forth the effort to do it right.
The CRAZY DAYZ logo already appears on the auctionsite's homepage, which takes you to a full description of the promotional event.
Important features include a special create an auction page that allows participants to immediately enter their listings onto a queue; the ability to indicate "savings - 25% - 50% - 75% -or- $1" from a savings drop down menu; auction durations can be either 2, 3, 5, 7, 14 or 21 days; and no relistings, so they are attempting to ensure that when the CRAZY DAYZ promotional event has ended the CRAZY DAYZ listings will also end.
I'm looking for this promotional event to be professional in every respect, it certainly is thus far.

You know dim you post alot of really good non-bias informative information here. I personally look forward to your stat reports, etc.
The only question I pose to you is...why tarnish it(IMO) by inserting personal views at certain sites in?

There IS a lot of excitement on thE PIER! I for one am looking forward to this sale, Crazy Dayz.... makes me want to dress up in some sort of costume!!! Just what the middle of summer needs. I am pleased at the way that everyone is working together on this sale. A big THANK YOU to Wallypog for organizing this. A lot of people are helping with the logos, gifs, and backgrounds, it is going to be a great time!!! As far as bidders, I have done real well over there! I use the name 47HarleyGal in all my auctions sites, epier seems to be doing about the best right now. Hoping this sale will be the shot in the arm that we need at that site.

I'm also looking forward to the CRAZY DAYZ sale. Pre-listed one auction and found a few glitches on the CRAZY DAYZ listings page, however, so we'll have to wait for corrections before pre-listing in earnest.
I think ePier saw the shenanighans elsewhere and is trying to do all it can to minimize any repetition in their own promotional event.
That can only enhance ePier's standing among other online auctions.

I don't know how many of these sales have been run in the past by other sites, but we can only learn from the mistakes of others, reading the threads here has been quite enlightening in terms of trying *not* to go down the same roads that cause problems, for example the "sale-that-didn't-quite-end" that recently happened elsewhere. To that end ePier are implementing some programming that will *make sure* all auctions will end on their appointed day.....

I for one, as a bidder, cannot wait for the Crazy Dayz sale on ePier to begin! I have purchased a number of items from this site in the past and have encountered nothing but great sellers who are extremely customer focused and really go out of their way to make the entire online auction experience a fun one. Plus, I have made a lot of great online friends! What more could a bidder as for?
Oh yeah-- *great deals* during the Crazy Dayz sale! LOL

Tremendous effort on the part of all involved. I believe that this sale could be the start of something bigger. Perhaps not right away, but you can only take one step at a time! I've had good sales for my hobby venture. Terrific people everywhere you turn. I'm very proud to be included in this summer sale. I decided to create something alittle different JUST for the sale, and I think all the folks around me are giving this all they can! Just wanted everyone to know that there are lots of sellers who are dedicated to making this be a GREAT SALE! My seller name is Kae and hope to see you there!

I'm really getting excited about the start of the CrazyDayz Sale! There's so many people joining in the fun by making banners, buttons, emailing past customers, and really getting in the spirit by finding a way to offer some stuff at real savings! I can't wait for it to begin and see how many new faces it will attract!
Wallypog did a bang-up job getting things going at Bidville's and with her help I think this one's going to be even better! She's really been giving it her all! Go ePier and good luck sellers! Hope to lots of new faces there myself )

That placement of the CRAZY DAYZ logo on the homepage, announcing the upcoming event to buyers, sellers and visitors early, was a smart move.
I notice that 100 participants have already signed up and there's still six days to go before CRAZY DAYZ even gets underway.

ePIER's Crazy Dayz sale is an awesome example of how a cooperative spirit will make great things happen. Everyone is working together to pull this off and it has all the makings of being *THE* online auction event of the summer season!!
Thank you to everyone who has put in so much of their valuable time. ePIER ROCKS!!!

Still not enough items to make me look at Epier on a regular basis. I did my informal search of specific players I like to buy cards on: Epier has 0. Bidbay have about 4. eBay always has 20-30. Bidville has about 15.
Can't get too excited if there's nothing really there. Epier is older than Bidville... how did Bidville get almost 10x more listings. Odd.
Also, I don't think Epier should really advertise the sale until items are actually up for sale. What's the point? No one will be banging on the doors to buy on Epier. If a new buyer should come along... there better be something there for sale.

considering nearly _half_ of Bidvilles much ballyhooed 600,000+ listings are *sportscards*, that's hardly surprising, is it?

I spent a few hours exploring Bidville last week, including the chats (one *hilarious* one called "Whine and Moan" or something that *truly* lived up to its name) but I see no reason for jubilation over the site. There's plenty "there" I suppose, but nobody is "buying"-- page after page of listings with zero bids, and the software listings, my particular interest, are almost laughable for a site boasting almost 2/3 of a million items.

I think you'll be surprised, from all signs there's going to be *plenty* of QUALITY items up for bids at a terrific price. This sale is as much to help the _site_ as it is about personal profit, perhaps even more so.
BTW, how come you and others can post *countless* Bidville threads here, but along comes *one* ePier thread, and the griping from the Bidvillians begins.......

I find it particularly interesting that ePier, with under 100,000 listings can generate a 1.6% sell-through rate, while Bidville, with nearly 700,000 listings generates a 1.4% sell-through rate.
Granted, the difference is nominal, but given the huge inventory one has to wonder why there's so few pageviewers and even fewer bidders at Bidville.
That's why I see the CRAZY DAYZ sale as an exceptional opportunity for ePier.

That's *your* assessment of ePier.
So if ePier's 100,000 listings are nothing really there and those listings generate a 1.6% sell-through rate, I'm wondering why Bidville's 700,000 listings, which you imply are broad-ranged, can only generate a 1.4% sell-through rate.
You're correct about the absolute numbers, but I'd expect *any* auctionsite that had 600% more listings to have a significantly higher sell-through rate.

I don't post alot here on AW, but I see one more chance before the thread deteriorates and gets locked up.
Those of us sellers who are busting a tail getting a few listings up that are quality items want Epier to grow. We want great bidders, we want great sellers, we want a place that we helped to grow to succeed. Those of you who don't like Epier, or don't see ANY growth, check out the sale BEFORE
you judge. We just might surprise you? If we only take a few baby steps this time, next time we'll take a few more and LEARN something! We might just surprise you AGAIN!!

Well, I'm kind of excited, LOL. And goodness, I sure don't see why this post is starting to turn into another vs. match. Gracious sakes alive I list on more than one site and I like having that freedom of choice.
I had to go out for a while today (and when I say out I mean that 25-mile drive into town, LOL). While I was gone I picked up a few brand new items that I'm going to list on the upcoming Crazy Dayz Sale and they're going to be listed with an opening bid of $1 or $2--no more than that.
I had lots of great fun with BidVille's sale and plan on doing the same on ePier.
And as for advertising the sale early--why not? I remember watching television (back in the old days when we had one) and seeing commercials for sales for places like Mervyn's for at least a couple of weeks in advance. (Do they still run those 'Open, open, open' ads?) In fact, I'm glad ePier started promoting early. It gives everyone more time to get signed up and get ready. I was still signing people up for the BV sale a week into it.
I think there's much to be learned and I'm excited to be part of the movement that is starting to rock the on-line auction industry on its heels. Sure, we're not making any great strides very fast, but we are making strides (so, maybe they're baby steps, LOL).

Perhaps the whole problem is your expectations dim. You seem have a dim view of every site unless it's GreedBay.

A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion.
Again, let me invite you to discuss this at BidVille. This thread is about ePier, not your personal expectations for BidVille.
Don't forget to go back through your numerous postings to correct your repeated mispelling of obsession.

My sincerest apologies for this disruption. We have tried to move it to BidVille many times, to no avail obviously. I will exit the thread BUT...
I want to tell you my interest is peaked about ePier, so I'm going to go take a look. If wallypog likes it, it has to be good!
These sales are fantastic for generating traffic and exposure.
GOTTA LOVE A SALE!

And once again I'll have to decline your "invitation." I prefer debating issues *here*, rather than *over there*.
Besides, I find the Bidville Cheerleaders' drivel funny, especially since its being posted *here* for all to see.
Now back to getting items ready for the CRAZY DAYZ event.

A big THANK YOU to Wallypog for her tremendous effort to help pull this ePier Crazy Dayz sale together!! The sellers have really been working hard, as have the technical support folks at ePier, to get ready for this online auction event - great things can be accomplished when folks work together as a team toward a common goal. Personally, I can't wait for the sale to begin - I am sure to find something that I "just can't live without"!!

I checked ePier's CRAZY DAYZ pre-listing page and see that the auctions duration drop-down menu has been fixed to allow 2, 3, 5, 7 and 14-day auctions, with no relistings, and the queued items are not active.

Question for everyone participating.
How are you approaching CRAZY DAYZ as an auction seller in terms of auction duration? The choices are 2, 3, 5, 7 or 14 day auctions, with no relistings. Since a 14-day auction will cause all the sales to come on the sale's last day, I'm considering putting my own items up as 7-day auctions and re-listing (manually) those that don't sell the first time around.
